Any issues when doing the headliner and messing with the side curtain airbags?

wasn't for me, but I left them alone. headliner removal wasn't great. Got it off without issue but getting it out requires bending and wasn't paying attention and creased it a little. Doesn't bother me and after a summer it kidna smoothed out again.

Just a heads up... in another thread here somewhere, folks have done the headliner without removing it. You can lower it onto the seats and work above it. An option worth considering. I am going to do my doors and rear cab in Noico 80 mil when I install new speakers (soon). I don't think I'm going to tackle the headliner ..yet.

it's very difficult to work around when it's down. I tried and removed it. Helps to fold the front seats forward and go out the back for a double cab. access cab might be easier because the door opening is wider.

Good point, the example I cited was a full 4 door cab.

    The headliner yes....partial drop.

I just finished the doors today. Just have the back wall to do!

Someone help this newb here understand the purpose of the thermal product over the sound deadening product? seems like overkill to someone who doesn't know anything. :crapstorm:

there are multiple issues that are undesirable that when treatments are done in the right order has significantly improved performance. read the write ups and sds website. He gracefully left the website up after retiring for people to get good information.

What are yous using to hold the MLV in place, anyone permanent, or is the consensus to just use some pieces of velcro?

Yeah, I would restrict applications as such. Butyl is waterproof so any amount of moisture could be trapped in air bubbles when installed and it won't be able to escape. If applied to bare metal...may eventually lead to some rust.
    Edit: precision

I did 80 mil Killmat over the summer when I upgraded stereo. I did every surface I could find including outer and inner door.
If you don’t do thermal I’d recommend at least 2 layers of 80mil on the roof but no way in hell I would recommend not totally removing it!

Where is the best place to start to deal with the wind noise I'm getting over 70mph?

    Drive slower.

lol...the one thing I've found when doing sound deadening projects is that once you kill noise in one area, it becomes pronounced in the next loudest area. So kill the roof, doors, floor, etc, then A-pillars become noisy, etc. The one thing we can't do, short of getting ballistic glass, is the windows. So keep that in mind.

I think everyone agrees that the doors are the easiest to tackle and give a good return on investment. Take your time, cover everything and do the proper layers if you're trying to kill airborne noise.
    Roof would be next imo.
    Then floor and back wall.

When I changed the shifter in my 6mt, I also realized how little material is between the interior cabin and the trans/ground below us. If I ever have to drop the trans for the clutch, I might even spend the time and effort to spray spectrum on the underside of the trans tunnel and floorboards.

+1 - I've only done my doors so far with NOICO matting. It helped significantly on door noise, but now other areas are more pronounced. I still need to do my floor and rear walls. Doubt i'll ever do the roof just due to the amount of work it seems like it is.

I honestly thought it was easier than the floor. But you have an AC, so maybe it'll be easier. I dunno.

I would agree the roof is easier than the floor because it takes a lot of time to get the carpet out but headliner can be out in probably 30 min.

a little more work to get it in but you can easily put 2-3 full layers of sound deadening on roof and you can be assured it’s the source of a lot of noise.

on a side note....I pressure washed my carpet while it was out at the car wash. You should remove the padding first and glue it back on with some 3M spray glue.
