Recently I was installing something into my left dash and in the process discovered two plugs that I can't figure out what they are for. One is white and the other black, both with 8 holes. I have a '17 SR and I believe it has the convenience package.

I have googled and searched this site for a possible answer but have yet to find one (but perhaps I am searching the wrong terms). This site has helped me so much already! This is my first post and I hope it could help someone else who might have the same question.

I can’t tell you what they are, but in both my 2020 and my 2021 there are random harnesses all over the place (not connected to anything). Maybe Toyota just figured it was easier to use the same harness across all trims and not use the ones that didn’t have those features?

I know that doesn’t necessarily help you, but figured I would point it out in case you didn’t know.

A lot of vehicles have the same harness which means you may have some connectors that are not being used depending on model and platform. One will figure out what’s not working once back together.... I don’t have much to help you with after that :-/ good luck

Thanks for the quick reply's everyone! All info helps since I like to know everything I can about my truck. Does anyone know what this harness type is called since it seems like it can be used for many different types of plugs?

I believe one of those is the bed receptacle and the other is the power sliding rear window.

OP, would you post a better pic of the white connector showing the wire colors? (it is the sliding rear power window switch connector.)

No Problem! Here are close ups of each showing the wire colors.
