I put this in the shop at the house December 12th, haven’t touched it although I did pressure wash it Saturday. Ask my boss if I could bring it to work and tinker with it, he said “I don’t care” :D

I believe it is a '55 from the grille and is a NAPCO conversion based upon the graphic on the glove box...
My dad has a 57 that is in slightly rougher condition..... Missing both fenders front and rear, and a couple of rust holes here and there
was his primary plowtruck for over 45 yrs until 2018, and is his backup truck now... Decided he wanted power steering now that he's almost 80...
Picture is from Christmas 2017 - Erie, PA- the lake effect storm that dumped 65" in roughly 2 1/2 days

That’s crazy to get that much snow in that short of period. Can you get a pic of the truck without snow on it? That’s cool

The wheels go in atleast to the hubs every time I launch my boat, probably 10 or so times a year. I'll be going back to a tub of grease if I cant get this working lol.

This is what I did but isn't flowing even though its a brand new tube, and the follower handle goes all the way into the can before grease comes out.

That would be ok for the handle to go back into the can. There's a metal disc with rubber on it, behind that metal/rubber disc is a spring that applies the pressure to the hand pump. So that metal and rubber disc would slide on that rod. Someone else chime in if I'm incorrect. Could be that things just worn out.

I agree with your thinking... I have had the plunger hang up if the end of the tube is deformed
NOt sure the conditions at the OP residence, but basically once teh garage gets "cold"(lower 30's) for the winter, i warm the new grease cartridge before installing a new tube...

I had to Google image, looks like that metal rubber part would be called the piston. Also looks like some styles may have that piston in a fixed position which would not allow that rod to go up into the tube. I wonder if your piston is just hung up in the bottom. Try gently tapping it on the work bench a little this way and that:rofl:not to over do it

I’ve had a couple hang up on a deformed end of the tube as well. Took me a few minutes to figure that out :annoyed:

Quite possible the new grease Gun just does not work right out of the box!!

I had a few over the years I had just forgotten about when you pay like @ $ 10.00 I just tend to toss them away or repurpose I doubt I bought a new one in 30 years .

Thanks for all the input yall. Im off tomorrow and ill give your advice a try. I keep trying to compare the grease gun to a caulking gun which I have way more experience with. I left out the part where I already wasted a barely used tube of grease because when the plunger went all the way in I thought it was empty. Tried to eject the cartridge sleeve and pressed out $7 of grease lol.
