I took off the tape and smeared RTV on it.

I think I might be dealing with more than one vacuum leak.

I took it on a short drive. So far no cel.

    Edit: CEL came back on.

I've had that happen twice since putting supercharger on. But I just let off throttle and step back on it and it comes back to life. No codes when this happens?

Nope. No codes when it happens. If it’s lazy and I come to a full stop it comes back and is much more responsive.

Digging back into the past on other forums fair amount of guys have had it happen after they put the supercharger on. Seems like a new TB fixed it for them.

But for me it’s doing it again. And it’s so annoying. Ive had the throttle drop out pulling out in front of traffic and while I’m just cruising. Could potentially be dangerous. With warm weather seems to happen more frequently.

I talked to the owner early Dec saying he would email me a ship date. I got the email for the end of Dec. Its now Jan 2 and I've got nothing. Its been there since July. They shouldn't be talking jobs if they can't do the work in a realistic time.

If it’s a repair how would it have been damaged in that area?

Is it in the casting or seam?

Clean the area very very well to remove all oil residue and put some JB WELD there

    I’m wondering the same thing.
It got damaged by ups but that was fixed and I think it was a different spot.
I slathered some RTV on that spot.

Which hole? Ive taken the old APPS apart and there’s no access to the potentiometer. It’s sealed up.

also, don’t potentiometers have grease on the contacts? Last thing I want to do is degrade/remove that.

There's a small hole in the white back plate. I guess regular elec. cleaner wouldn't be good to use. but a product like this could be used.

Yessir. Would be nice if you get a Hall effect sensor and soldier it in there. There’s a good reason Toyota went to HALL sensors in their APPS.

That one looks like it might have 2 broken solder joints. Top and bottom pin.

I wish I could join the conversation more.. still waiting for any meaningful word from The HighSpeedLab on my supercharger that has been there, and services paid for, since early August.

Very disappointing and certainly not confidence inspiring.. I’m not sure I’m going to feel any better about bolting it up now than I did before. That is if I ever even hear from them let alone actually get it back. The best I’ve gotten is a response in November saying they’d give me an update.. never came. Reached out twice in December, just got another response saying they’d get back to me with an update. Why would you bother to send that as a response when you could just get the damn update and send that and actually meet the customers request?

Fingers crossed they come through this time. Really don’t want to take legal action but superchargers aren’t throw away money.

    Be warned.

This whole situation is starting to remind me of the Pelfrybilt fiasco from a couple years ago, when Pelfrybilt took a bunch of people's money for orders, never fulfilled them and then the company went under and the owners disappeared. Some people got their money back via their banks but a lot of people didn't.

I sure hope that isn't happening here, 2020 was a crazy shitty year for a lot of businesses but that's no excuse to leave paying customers completely in the dark.

I got it back. I’ve put about 7,000 miles on it. So far it’s good.
Mine had a lot of work done....not nearly an ordinary rebuild and it’s fine.

That’s a sigh of relief, glad to hear it! I’m also having a lot done to mine, hopefully it comes back in good shape like yours did.

    Yeah, mine was a pos.
I bought it used and it turned out to be a really bad purchase.
Anytime a used SC turns up for sale on the forum I tell the potential buyer about mine.
