No real way of telling how much air it used by doing that is there?

I'm contemplating selling my X20 for something different soon. I'll even throw in some new line as I already chaffed mine pretty bad.

The new Smittys look kind of cool. I like the controllers.

Ironman 4x4 has started selling winches that are supposedly very nice for the price.

I'm going with one of these either the colt or the mustang. I talked to a guy who's company uses them exclusively. From what he said after using warns and smittys these were hands down the best he's used. Now this was on a commercial truck that had steel cable and big boy Steed.

I still have doubles of wrenches.
The amount of air used from a quick Ugga dugga is negligible. My tank will remove 540 lug nuts as some sort of frame of reference. I also have a breaker bar under the back seat as a last resort.

    https://powertank.com/pages/tire-air-up-chart

if you really wanted to test it though, weigh the tank, use it for some tasks simulating a trail fix, and then weigh it again.

I tweaked the panel a bit more today. Modified the brackets to allow for more clearance and I’m much happier with the finished product.

I'm curious what you'll be charging with these. Will you have a separate "house" battery in the bed of the truck? Or just hooking it up to your full-on truck battery? The solar angle has always interested me. I doubt I'll need/add them for my truck, but knowledge is power! Damn. That's a pretty good pun, I must say. Totally unintentional.

I’m just hooking it right to my main battery. I don’t have a house battery. KISS.

I've been eying that model, but tend to get bogged up over the extra $200 or $300 or whatever it costs to go with the Warn name/reputation/warranty/Customer Service

I wish I had something to compare my Smitty to, but this is my first winch. And I've used it for recovery twice. Tree stump removal a bunch. It's worked, but always sounds like it's struggling. So I dunno. I'll run it till it dies than figure it out from there.

Yeah, dometic and lights would really be it. Again, I definitely don’t need solar but I jumped at the chance when I could.

I got the controller mounted and installed, all wires labeled. All I have left is to add an inline fuse on the hot lead coming off of the battery which will arrive Thursday.

You do you. I'm just wondering where I stand on powah. Now I know. If worse comes to worst, currently, I always have a jump box with me when I camp. I kind of hope I get the chance to see if I can jump start the truck with it after a night of CPAP-age.

I've been eying that model, good ol' @RobP62 shot the shit on all things winches, I but tend to buy once cry once when I and my bank account can... not worth milling over the extra $200 or $400 for a year or however long before I'd upgrade to what I originally was looking at buying.

Figured I'd get more use in pulling down trees during storms than extracting my vehicle...but damn if it doesn't hurt to be prepared to do it when the time comes!
