Followed me to a stop sign - pretty funny actually.
He was genuinely concerned that something was wrong, or I was just being a dick head.
I'm convinced that my Toyota just knows how to make friends.

Early morning. Fellow hunter on his way out to the fields at the time too. We had a bit of a laugh afterwards, said to trade it for an F150

I just spent four days road-tripping and four-wheeling my Taco on it’s first ‘real’ road trip. I think total mileage for the trip was 1,600 Miles or so. Here are some of my observations:

This motor likes to rev, especially on grades. It’s normal and if the noise bothers you, turn up the radio. This engine doesn’t make a lot of power so the trans is always trying to keep the engine it’s power-band. I have an MT and had to shift frequently to keep the engine happy so I can see how an auto would be shifting a lot.

Adaptive Cruise Control works pretty well, although I tend to watch traffic closely and rarely get stuck behind slower cars. Like someone else mentioned, holding the CC power button in for 3-5 seconds will make it function like older CC systems. The manual also discusses this....

I’m a fan of auto hi-beams! I didn’t think I would be but spending the past four days driving at night in the hills outside of Sedona I thought the dimmed and brightened appropriately. No one flashed their beams at me however I did have to turn them on manually when I drove down a long dark driveway to where we were staying.

I just drive the taco like my old 2001 tundra. Transmissions shifts perfect like normal, but with 2 extra gears. I will say when the truck was very new it was one weird experience driving with that automatic.

I hear you took me a couple of weeks to figure out it wasn’t the transmission but it was how I was stomping on the gas pedal. Now my truck drives pretty normal but it is far from a normal gas pedal kinda has a flat spot you have to get around.

The fix i used for this (drove me crazy as I keep thinking someone is coming from behind) is I took one of the rubber plug/grommets that I used to plug the bed holes from dust (but that still allow water to drain) and cut part of the tip away and then siliconed it on over that light fixture so the light only shines down and forward (not towards the rear of the rear of the cab anymore). Its flexible and i don't even know its there anymore

I abhor automatic headlights. With each additional automation, drivers are allowed to become less and less attentive to the driving task.
I think the reason you see so many drivers driving around at night with just their DRLs on is because they're used to auto headlights.

Instead of the car automatically engaging things like lights, wipers, blinkers, etc, I'd like to see the car just throw out an annoying reminder message to force the driver to perform the action themselves.

"It's dark outside, turn on your headlights, dumbass!"....
Then just repeat the warning every 10 seconds until they do it.

Yep, mine says Auto instead of DRL, and DRL Off below that. Although now that I think about it, I do have LED low beams and fog lights, so maybe that's the difference? I also have dual zone climate control, which I believe required premium or tech packages in '20?

You are right on brother. Im still surprised at how many morons i see with DRLs or no lights at all at night. I also like the high beam people, i can see that blue light in their dash from my drivers seat at times. Like how stupid are you?
