What are we looking at? Besides an OffRoad with the XP package?

Yeah but you could set up a Term policy to go into a Trust too right?

Terms are only good for the term. At the end of the term, premium goes up, and with term you're "renting" coverage. Whole life has the same, level premium until death or policy maturity, and builds cash value. It's truly "owning" a policy

It's called a Testimentary (sp) Trust. I will be setting mine up soon for the very same reasons you are. I have someone I'll be using if you want their contact information.

Right but if you were to pass away while the term was active you could still set it up to go to be controlled by a Trust for the benefit of a minor child.

And it’ll pay out roughly ten times what a whole life policy of the same cost would. I’ve always assumed people who sell Whole Life were either crooks or they straight up can’t do math.

If you plan right you can be self insured by the time the 20 year term expires.

I've got my lawyer locally here I need to go and do some things anyways. That shit always is nerve-racking for me because it's so morbid in a sense.

I won't ever be that last part for sure. Only way I can pull that off is if our family property in NH sold. I've got 1/5 of it.

That’s why most people die without a will.

It’s scary and not fun to talk or think about. Sounds like you love your family enough to take care of them even in death. :hattip:

IF being the operative word. Whole life has a wide range of applications where it makes sense (buy/sell agreements, child policies, final expense policies, etc.) You're right, it does cost as much or more as term. I personally have both whole and term policies on myself, and I have whole life policies on my kids. Whole life makes sense at the right time. Term makes sense at the right time.

Well my kid i wouldn't go so far as say family. The family i took care of passed many years ago. The only reason for me to have a will and trusts is keeping others away. It's a safeguard for me.

Part of the reason is already I know my lifetime is cut short period not even sugar coating it. And probably around retirement ill have to have my second open heart surgery. I've cheated death already twice.

I’m not a fan of any of those dealer packages, but to each their own.

The girl friend just found out that a girl she works with and who was around her today, was with a group of people last weekend and 6 of those people have tested positive.

    Lord help me.

    :rofl:Sorry not funny.

Man I've never slowed my life down and interact with many people a day some of whom have tested positive and the girl I hang with is a nurse who's clinic sees lots of covid patients and neither of us have even had the slightest hint of catching that shit
