    The only thing school does is show you can follow directions and memorize stuff. Unless you are going to a trade school, then you might actually learn something.

    in IT places are finally starting to not worry so much about education and more about what you know and have done.

    people really need to consider the cost of schooling vs the annual pay for the jobs they want. And not just goto school cuz that’s what you “should” do.

    It doesn’t make any sense to spend $50k to make $35k a year. But spending $50k on school to be over $100k is another story.

    Yeah, the choice of major is the important part. There's a lot of nearly useless degrees out there. Not that they don't teach you good things in some of them, but they don't always translate into a job.

    Some jobs also train you and then pay well. Railroads for example. But then they also steal your soul...
