16" Procomp 7089s and 265/75/16s

I know there have been a few discussions on this wheel, but i just want to make sure the 16"s are good to go, and will clear the brake calipers.

Just to clarify i need:

16x8 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern. 4.5 BS

Hub-centric: No

And..265/75/16 Wrangler Duratracs will fit this wheel and run smoothly on a 2010 DCSB TRD Sport with stock suspension?

One more thing, what lug-nuts do i need? And can they be found in black? Ive searched and always found different opinions and answers.

Pretty much the exact set up I am planning to buy this Christmas. They will clear the brakes but not 100% sure if it will run on stock suspension - I think so...I'm sure someone else knows for sure.

Lug-nuts - I think you need to get the Gorilla E/T lug nuts to fit those wheels...don't think they are available in black from what I've heard. Hope this helps!

I'm going with this setup as well, and I have the same questions.

If someone with Procomp 7089's could chime in about what type of lug nuts worked best for their ride with no vibes or mounting problems.

What kind of lug seats do the 7089's have?

If there isn't enough thread sticking out of the wheel to grab onto, why would extended lug nuts help? Wouldn't you just have an extra long lug nut that's not biting in? Wouldn't switching out the studs themselves, be the correct way to mount wheels in this case (hunt4steve)? I just want to buy the extended threads and call it a day, but only if there aren't any problems down the line.

I think that we need the acorn style lugs.

Changing out the wheel studs would definitely work, but I think buying E/T lugs will grab a few more threads and be safe to drive on. Wait for more responses though.....

Also, are the duratracs in "C" good or should i go with "E"?

 

First off you do want hubcentric wheels... What is your towing going to be?? light towing load C's will be fine, if you're going to tow heavy and frequently I would roll load E's.

Im not gonna be towing anything really, at least right now and in the near future. I just want to make sure i do/get things right from the get go. I know i read a lot of guys with the tracs went with Cs but i just want to be sure. Thanks!

 

i have those rims but i forgot wut type of lugs i got! i just know they are a pain in the ass because most wheel wrenches are too wide and wud scratch the rim so it took me a while to find a narrower wrench. sorry im not sure about the lugs tho

I would NOT get these rims for that setup. I know guys have run this setup with no issues but you are taking a very big chance of something not working. There is very minimal clearance with the caliper and for some reason these rim/tire combo are hard to balance and took alot of weight which made mine not be able to clear the caliper. I tried 2 different sets of duratracs and they both had the same effect. I loved the look of this setup alot but i spent over $250 in balancing trying to make it work. hope this helps

 

Shit...I was just about to order this set up. How would adding a lot of weights to the tire make the wheel not clear the caliper?

Anyone know of a similar looking wheel that has no problems?

 

Fuuuuu...How do you think 17s with the 265/75/16s would look?
