    Quick question regarding your DaCruiser2.0 tune(s). For those of us in Cali, with only access to 91 octane (referred to as premium here), are we advised to stick with your "Reg" tune(s) ? Not sure if you guys have 93 octane there and if running the premium tune in Cali, when running our premium 91 would be a no-no...?>

    From what I understand, both tunes are octane learning and have a “range”. Regular octane tunes are good for a range of approximately 87-91. And Premium tunes are good for a range of approximately 89-93. So if this is correct, you could run either tune with 91 and get “full effect”, but if you were running 93, you’d have to run a premium tune to get the “full effect”.
    Personally, I run 93 octane on the regular tune. So my truck “should” be advancing the timing up to 91 and I’m not getting the “full effect”. I have ran both tunes for many miles and I don’t think it’s a big difference (some disagree), so I just run regular in case I want to buy cheaper regular gas at any time.

    Makes ya wonder if there is any benefit to looking at water/meth injection on these N/A trucks like we did/do in the (turbo) Subaru world.
    After all, if ignition timing is knock/det limited, then adding water injection to cool the intake charge might reap some significant benefits, not the least of which is reduced EGT's

    In addition to that.... I have another question for the guru's in here... I have not yet received my unlock key yet, but I did receive my master key today. Request for unlock key sent today as well....

    Anyway, do these trucks run on closed loop/open loop tables?
    Are those tables based on load vs throttle position? Are they RPM dependent?
    Just wondering what to expect when I start looking at tunes here.

    I see references to air load tables, but really just curious how these trucks deal with fuel delivery. Is it always closed loop where the 02 sensors determine fuel delivery (injector duty cycle)?

    I think the only available improvements over N/A are Superchargers and turbos. I haven’t heard of anyone trying water/meth injection on N/A Tacoma’s. Might be benefits. If you have experience with this on Subarus (with turbos), maybe you’re the man to try it!

    Vftuner has closed loop and open loop map/tables. Some are based on throttle position and vehicle speed, some are based on throttle position and torque, some on vehicle load, some are just input tables for limits or tire size or gears. (some are mislabeled, lol).
    You’ll see there’s a lot of different maps.
    Good luck and have fun. Read as much as you can before you get access.

    As recommended by @Mooseditty17, I changed the 2 airload control maps (control airflow and expected airflow) to the lambda .999 numbers from 04833.
    Here is the updated files. Sorry for the constant updates, just trying to make it the best it can be.

    Hey @PapaRee , is it safe to assume that your tunes, specifically the DaCruiser 3.0 tune can be flashed to a 2018 (TRD OR A/T) ?

    Nevermind, I see this is specifically for the 2016-2017
    Has anyone made this tune compatible with the 2018 yet? I am thinking I need the 04A61 version?
