What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

No more ridiculous than paying ToyotER an annual fee to access your own vehicle remote start.

 

I've always been into "tech" and security since I have had 2 vehicles stolen in the past. (benefits of living in California) I am still in the research phase, so haven't made any final decisions. I know that is what insurance is for, but insurance doesn't usually cover any additional modifications to the vehicle.

This is an open forum and you are entitled to your opinion. However, my purchase decisions are based on my own personal needs, which you may or may not agree with.

 

Installed 2nd generation running boards. I think that these look so much better than the tube steps that came with my ‘19.

 

installed my Ko’o gas cap holder from JT designs. I was gonna go with the meso gas hole, but I have too much meso and wanted to diversify a little.

Personally Id be taking a grinder to the "step" portion of it, cut the steps and clean it up with it there acting as a slider. I know its not as heavy duty as other sliders but if that came on my truck that's what I'd do with it.

 

Personally, I need the steps so I don't destroy the edge of the seat.

 

Installed the Midland MTX275 Micro mobile radio, Ordered the 32" 6db gain whip antenna w/ hood mount. Sorry I do not have pictures of install at this time. Will try to post some to this later.

Yes, bolt right on. They’re steel with plastic covering. You will be told “officially” that they won’t fit because they’re for 2nd generation but they fit fine. They seem just a sturdy as the tube steps I removed. They’re are several threads on them here.

Where are you going to mount the control box for the radio?
