I am calling this one quits. Four days of trying to get it to work. First the two of one, none of the other bolt hole covers. Then the wrong nut + 2 same bolts. Top bolt goes in with some jimmying as described in the thread. Bottom one will go in w/o the cover on and can just get it to work w/ cover. But handle no. Adding the handle seems to force the bolt into an alignment that is too different even for the clip nut to address. I have tried for 30 minutes on two occasions now. I am sending this #$)#$)#$ back.

Self centering clip (extruded style) helps in the front hole. Also worth note - the bolts are two different lengths (or at least mine were). I used the longer one in the front (lower) hole. The wonderful instructions didn't note this detail....

On the upper hole - as you noted, the bolt doesn't go in at the right angle, do you kind of have to get it started (without stripping the bolt) by angling the handle (and pillar piece) up towards the roof of the truck, and then tighten slowly allowing the whole assemble to get in line and the difference in angle absorbed by the handle an pillar.

Its not easy, but I do think its worth it

I have emailed her and called her about a return. Finally got ahold of her texting. She says I have to follow her policy. Of course. We had a back and forth about the return. She has no policy on defective goods. She highlighted "Damaged goods" which of course this is not. Nothing was damaged in shipping or by me. It is just a flawed design + sloppy parts management.

The contrast with MESO is striking. Had an issue. He responds right away and arranges a replacement part.

KTJO and @MESO are not even remotely in the same category. Stew is ridiculous, when it comes to making his customers happy. Even when the issue is his customer fucking up. KT on the other hand is... not Stew.

Again, followed instructions/guidance on this thread. Very helpful (thank you guys!!).

The issue is WITH the lower/front bolt, WITH a self centering clip installed (as suggested on the thread). It could be that the bolt is just too short, but it is reaching the clip. I have warn away the finish on both the clip and part of the body paint color bracket trying to get it in. There is also some wear on the back side of the plastic cover, the tube that is supposed to hold and orient the bolt. My concern is if I keep this up I will damage something and then be unable to return. Jimmying stuff from KTJO has become second nature, but this is too much. Wrong bolts, nut, bolt covers and misaligned by design cover.

That's a lawsuit, my man. You were promised goods and services and did not receive the goods as described. You entered into a contract (both sides) when you made your purchase.

Oh no! I think you have the worst install noted so far? And, you complained a lot less than I did. :D

What the fuck!? She's giving you the runaround and telling you to read the fine print. Absolutely clueless . . .

While just the discovery process would be deserved and would sink her, $500/hr up front makes issues with a $200 mod kinda not worth it?

Now, if someone has a lawyer on staff . . .

Attorneys are required to take a set number of pro-bono hours per year to retain their Bar membership :) You could find someone in your state looking to get their hours out of the way quickly... Or just send a strongly worded letter.

Anyone got an in with Judge Judy?

You'd think she'd be more about customer service and keeping people happy, but she has the market cornered on a few products and she knows it. No reason to go the extra mile.
