Has anyone ever used legalzoom.com for legal services obviously? The reason I ask is b/c I'd like to have prepared for my parents a living will, last will and testament, power or attorney etc., etc.

If you have, please post your experiences and reasons not to use or not this convenient service. Thanks in advance TW!

drop in k&n for now. Deckplated. Got rid of the intestinal airpipe and baffleys. Replaced with shiny big pipe of more straightness.
    Morning.
    LegalZoom is an interesting site.

We were going to use it to register the company.
The reason the business partner and I didnt..is

    for bus.registration at least..you have 3 choices/packages.
They list one price for a,b,c.

But by the time your ready to file regardless of package choice..the price goes thru the roof..
I dont recall the exact figures but if it started at 200$ by the time yer actually done filing it was several hundred more.

Not a deal breaker..but maybe call around some local places and see what they charge ?
Personally (despite the legal end of things) try to keep money in state/local .
And looking like local might be cheaper at least for our needs.

    Good luck.
    pt.

Why don't you have your parents write down the will and have i noterized. Even with a will you still have to go through probate, i had to do this 3 years ago. I'm sure every state is different thou.

I'd looked into this a while back. If your needs are simple, meaning no complications through marriage, children, etc. No problem with LegalZoom.com. However, if what you want is complicated, you're better off going with a local attorney.

The other reason you might want to use a local attorney is to discuss options for what it is you want to accomplish. LZ is good when you know exactly what you need.

    Does Plasti-Dip count as a mod ?
I used Legal Zoom to do my divorce. Easy to online. $300 final cost.

There's also the option of doing what's been mentioned. Type up your own, or use any of the many free examples on the net. Get on done, get it notarized, file it. If you have an attorney do it it will most likely cost a bit more.

I read on legalzoom that if you have a living trust then probate wouldn't happen.

Living trust will bypass the courts, for that i would use a lawyer that you can talk to face to face.
