The worst part about freelancing for me was every year come tax time. In order to not get completely raped, you have to keep meticulous records of every.single.little.thing that might remotely be a write off, it's exhausting. And it's better to do your taxes quarterly rather than annually as a freelancer which makes it even more of a pain. I hated that part of it so much lol. And to have an accountant do the work for you is $$$ too.

I always seemed to know people in the industry that somehow claimed to never owe a thing on their freelance income because of their write offs, which to this day makes absolutely zero sense to me. No way you can completely write off so much that you keep all your income from the year. Methinks these people are flying under the IRS' radar which is risky business.

Absolutely. There are services like Freshbooks that take out some of the pain of the billing, but taxes hurt no matter what. There's the enjoyable work part of the business, the reason why you got into it in the first place - and then it all gets crushed by the reality of running it.

I'd do it again, but I need more of a plan first, particularly for marketing.

Living in CA of course makes it worse too, CA hates small businesses/freelancers. Talk about getting taxed to death, but that's another topic for another day (and probably a different place lol)

Gained like one or two @Empty_Lord worth of ground clearance in the rear

I had half a Dan worth of clearance with the stock bumper and tow hitch so yeah I probably gained 5-6 Dans -

That loud clanking was my tow hitch :anonymous:

You're going to burn in hell for running a lifted suspension according to this Facebook expert's bullshit post below.:rofl::rofl:

Suspension lifts are mostly useless on IFS vehicles. They have many more cons and the pros are questionable.
    Cons:
    - No added tire clearance (biggest misconception)
    - Reduced droop travel
    - High CV angle
    - Increased component wear
    - Diff drop reduces ground clearance
    - Lifts use higher rate springs and bars (harsher ride, less articulation)
    - Lots of extra parts needed besides lift (diff drop, tubular UCAS, extended sway links, adjustable rear UCA/LCA/PHB)
    - Lower MPG
    - Higher COG
    Pros:
    - More load carrying capacity? (assuming higher rate springs and net zero lift once loaded)
    - Looks cool when parked?
    - Slight improvement to angles (approach/break over/departure)

I'll probably have it done sooner. Just dragging ass getting through this project because as usual I overestimated the rate I'd be able to work on stuff and how much time I would dedicate to working on stuff.

It shouldn't be too bad. The thing I'm dreading most is putting conduit through the attic and pulling the wire. Got some 0 gauge drop cable which should be G2G
