    This thread is fun.

2005 Expedition 3V 5.4. Owned it 2 years and felt like it cost me 1500 every 3 months in repairs

My 2006 Audi S4 Avant 6MT. Thing was ALWAYS broken, and always expensive to repair. But god did I love that V8 thunder in a wagon.

If you find one that has had the timing chain done and no rust, go for it. The timing chain service is engine out, 3K in parts alone. It’s a nightmare.

Yeah that’s what I’ve heard, along with convert the chain guides to the RS4 guides. I told my fiancé that a clean B6 S4 avant 6mt with stellar maintenance history is the one vehicle I would give up the Taco for.

yes I could go in that direction, but I dont think its a lemon, I think Toyota is trying too hard to save a buck and not replace parts, plus I want Quicksand

I had a 1981 280ZX in 1991 that was all rotted out. Sold my old car and the next day under it I saw rust/rot all over the frame and floorboards. One of my front fenders I think started coming loose right as I sold it.

Thing is all the foreign cars made then were rustbuckets after 10 years. On top of it I live in Massachusetts.

i get it... but it’s just strange that his mindset was “I hate rust! Oooh look Toyota.”

Awesome driving car, but went through more wheel bearings, brake parts and strut mounts that I can recall.

I’ll add. A used, super clean (I thought) 1988 Camry V6. CVs failed, the differential failed, the starter failed, the wiring had corrosion and failures in weird places, brake problems. Even had to replace trim strips due to corrosion. The local Toyota shop manager knew me by name. After throwing money at it I finally got ticked and gave it to my brother for $1000. He drove that damn car another 140K miles. I now think it was a flood car, a pox on the $&#@ that sold it to me.

Worst vehicle for repairs, 2014 Jeep Wrangler JKU. Took it in 3 times in one year. After the dealership worked on it, I had even more problems. Got rid of it for the Tacoma.

I bought my daughter a 2012 VW Jetta turbo diesel. The car ran well but we could not get the ABS light to stay off. Dealer and local mechanic both worked on it and neither could resolve the issue. The air conditioner worked great on the open road but would not blow cold in traffic. Sold it and bought a Honda Civic Coupe.

No more VWs or Fiat brans for us.

True unless Datsun was using exceptionally poor metal back then..though let's not go there re Toyota frames haha

My VW GTI was pretty reliable. Just expensive for parts.

I forgot about my Plymouth laser - timing skipped and crushed a valve.

    08 Nissan Pathfinder was terrible.

I bought a 2012 Kia Forte new and put just over 250k miles in just over 4 years. Barely changed the oil on time and she ran perfect till I traded it in for a Suby. Easily most reliable car I’ve had.
