That Action location has closed. Not sure what the heck happened but the building is empty.

I ended up ordering a lift from Headstrong, few hours to install in my driveway.

    Ottawa mod day?

    Happy long weekend!

Just wondering if there are any recommended shops who could supply and install an Elka front suspension, in the Ottawa area? I will supply SPC UCAs. I'm looking for a shop that has replaced a 3rd gen suspension before.

I will do the rear suspension myself, does not seem hard. And on that subject, is there a local suppler of Deaver or Icon RTX springs?

Unfortunately, we don't seem to have too many options around these parts. Maybe Goldwing Autocare according to google but I've never used them.

Frisby Tire on Industrial was pretty much the only place willing to align mine after I installed a lift.

Yah, seems clear because I have scoured this whole forum and came up with nothing. Closest thing to a mod shop is Rack Attack - I priced out a Yakima roof rack and just quit when the price started getting over $2000.

Now I'm thinking of ordering the BAMF shock relocation kit and getting the Elka pieces direct from their factory. I can install it in the driveway.

What did you end up ordering from Headstrong?

I ended up going with the 5100's all around, 885 springs and a single AAL.

The Elka kit sure looks sexy!

I am looking for 3rd gen trd off-road suspension in the Ottawa area but would consider other 3rd gen suspension. I just got a second gen. I looked at the elka but price and maintenance scared me away. Looking at dobinsons and 5100s as well.

Hey Joe. I've been toying with the idea of leveling the fronts with 5100, but haven't been serious enough to do it yet. I'm kinda ok with leaving it OEM. Good luck, and hopefully some day next year we could have a meet up...

in about a month I should have my TRD marked bilstein 6112/5160 lift on and if I like it, I will be looking to sell my 2020 sport suspension. I could reach out in a month or two if you’d like. Shoot me a pm if you’d be interested.

Hey Ottawa crew! Been a while since I jumped on here. With the 2018 tacoma needing tires, an extended warranty and new front suspension after the Eibach shit out (they did send me new replacement shocks but that still meant I had to do all the work or pay to re-assemble...) I got into a Gladiator, loved it until it got death wobble and had no support from Jeep because it was obviously my lift that caused it... asshats, they could not nor would not entertain identifying what part of my lift that was far superior to the basic Mopar lift.... the Gladiator did see a lot of bush roads but nothing like the hard use my other jeeps had.

Anyway, back in Ottawa until Xmas, or maybe longer.... back into another pickup that is not a Jeep....... I went with a baby Diesel ZR2 Colorado. So far it is fantastic!! Just turned 10,000km today. Running 255's Falkens stock. Just added a Leer 180 like I had on the Ford for my Norther Expedition trip that I see somebody just linked to on this forum... It will get an AAL and the GM Factory performance front levelling kit over the winter.

Up for some wheeling this fall out in the Calabogie area, I can lead trails that are friendly to my rig and Tacos.

Heading up the Trans Taiga Rd. next week if any of you crazy ppl wanna roll along with my dog and I.

Long Live the Manuals, excellent choice sir.

ETA for my truck [OR AC MT] is late Jan - if it doesn't get pushed back further - I'll post up when I get it. I'd definitely be down to go exploring the surrounding area [which I'm also relatively new to].

I work in Ottawa, or at least I used to in the before times. I'd be up for exploring on the weekend sometime. I'm installing a ham radio in the truck at the moment. My truck also has the good transmission.

As posted above I know a good bit of the Calabogie area trail beyond the damn. There isn't much value in going there now, if the roads are plowed sure you can put around on them but that's about it until the spring. I can come watch you two manual trucks pull each other out a few times! I wouldn't hate a Pro manual myself, but for now I will keep the ZR2 that I am loving way more than the last TRD Offroad (auto shit pile). I suspect with the update interior and the manual it will be much nicer. would be interesting to see how it compares to the ZR2....

It took my truck about 6 months to come in. Hopefully yours comes in a lot sooner. Can't wait to see the rig if we go out wheeling sometime.

I went out a few times over Christmas break only know a few trails around but they weren't too full of snow at all maybe 2 inches. Obviously that will change as the winter progresses and it will definitely be fun this spring and go out a lot more and definitely sounds like fun comparing the zr2 and my pro. If not going out soon. Will go out wheeling in the spring.

Hi guys, planning to do some trails and camping south of Ottawa. How difficult is the calabogie line with snow? Does is depend on how deep it is?
How would you rate it? 2 or 3?
    I am on 33s duratracs.

I am looking for more people to join bdw.

    Thanks in advance.
