really odd bc my covers are damn near perfect. Just checked them again and they are flush as the OEm on the passenger side and no sharp/jagged edges.

Not odd at all considering at minimum half have mentioned 1 issue or another from quality to hardware
    The bottom is worse

If you look closely you can see a ridge with extra material (between arrows) which is why it’s tight and keeping it from seating further down/in. Really it’s all the way to the corner but if I can sand it flat/even maybe
    FB781EAF-DAFD-4EE8-8F9D-F5D259516E5A.jpg
the top is not as bad but same issue

Mine look the same as what you've picture, figured I'd try sanding them down, which is partially why I didn't want to bother installing it yet. What should be a 5-10 minute install, is looking more like a weekend project that I might just sell off instead.

Yea, it will be a little bit at a time then test as not to take away to much material. I’ll have to look at it closer tomorrow in the daylight and next to the passenger side then in approximate position to see if I’ll be happy with it before I start messing with it

After looking a bit closer this morning, mine seem a bit worse off. I sent an email to the warranty claims email address... we'll see what happens. For the price paid, I wouldn't have expected a defect/damage like this to be sent out. It almost looks like I either received someone else's damaged handle or whoever installed the covers gouged the crap out of them with a pick tool trying to get them to sit flush.

I think the whole situation would have been better had 2 things taken place:
    1) KTJO did some actual beta testing with a selected group of the preorder folks for fitment and texture issues, etc then modified the final product and design before full implementation.
    2) Communicate. Not everyone uses IG or FB so email communication is a must.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
Makes you wonder if the lowest bidder won the work here. Her profit margins must be astronomical since "good enough" seems to be the motto.

Yes. The simplest of stuff that happens on a lot of mods developed around here.

Hindsight is 2020, but this is why normally don't recommend rivnuts unless you consider carefully what happens if they spin.

Also not every riv nut is the same… it can lead down a small rabbit hole. Some are designed to prevent spinning w/ ribs and the like, the material thickness matters etc

edit: in this case I guess the only thing is to drill out the head of the bolt and try to stop before the metal spacer. Then drill out the rivnet

edit2: suggest not getting what’s available at the store or Amazon/eBay. Go to McMaster and look at all options specs etc then decide

When drilling out, use a good drill bit and be careful not to make the holes larger than the threaded insert used.

I considered a rivenut but knowing that the angle is fucked up I was becoming less and less confident with it

And also, they are not really a tension device. I noted my worries about this about a month ago, esp in regard to the strength of the clip itself.

Now, with the entire fitment fiasco, I guess it really doesn't matter. The upper clip was bent to fit way too easily. I have grabbed the handle only about twice.
