This makes sense coming from the guy running potts with nerf bars.

Safety racoon is moving into my garage.

Actually, I think safety racoon and my wife might be one and the same.

Edit: I don't think you could safely call those nerf bars. They were steps masquerading as sliders.

I do. I give her crap because when I met her I thought she was all brave and self-reliant and stuff. Then when we got married I find out she's a big wimp and asks me to do stuff all the time.

You know it's something bad if I say something about it. I'm a safety 3rd or 5th kinda guy.

I think a lot of my safety third attitude comes from having done it as a living. When time is money, you tend to take some short-cuts. And safety is typically the first thing to go.

I'm a former tech as well. I've seen the results of acid that's supposed to be on the inside on the outside.

A story I love to tell about her: We were in Vegas a few years ago and they have a zip line that runs down the old strip (Fremont Street). It was really cool because it run underneath this canopy that's erected over the street that has a light show constantly going on it. We paid like $60 per person and lied about my weight to get on this thing. You go to the top of a parking garage and step over the wall onto scaffolding so you can strap into the zip line. And it's a sitting version of it. I knew, once we stepped onto that scaffolding, my wife was going to wimp out. And sure enough we get up to the jumping off point and she's about to turn around. I totally guilted her into doing it.

We get done and I realize they take photos of you while you're careening down this thing. There's mine. I'm not huge on heights, but like thrills. I look like a kid at Christmas in my photo. And then there's my wife's photo. Sheer terror on her face. And to top it off, her huge, black, granny purse is hanging below her. I bought that photo right then and there and have it hanging in the house.

I got banned from that zipline. Harness was totally fine and secure, so I flipped myself over and did about 70% of it inverted. The staff wasn't as amused as I was. My rock climbing resume fell on deaf ears when they tried to tell me it was "wildly unsafe"

I had a close call one day. I had pulled a car in, done what I needed to do and went to go start it to listen to it or something. When I turned the key I heard this huge pop and the car wouldn't start. The battery had burst. The hood had saved me from serious injuries. Other than that I've gotten it on my hands a few times. I'm a lessons-learned type. When something bad happens I'll change my way.... Maybe.

The whole sketchiness of Vegas aside, I felt fine on it. Not as brave as you, but I was cool.
