DIY switch panel inserts!

I was going to order the meso 7 switch lower panel, but then i found these.

I think im going to add 2 or 3 to my stock panel. Any thoughts?

 

So with that you just cut the rectangle the appropriate size, that snaps into place, then the button would snap into that?

If so, I wish I had seen that before. It’s precisely what I’ve been looking for.

 

Do you know if hats the “normal Toyota switch size”? It shows rocker switches in the pictures. Not even sure if there’s a difference to be honest, but figured I’d ask.

 

Yes cut out, snap in and install switch.
And you can get these inserts for different size switches.

Anyone know the OEM switch dimensions

Those are for rocker switches, not the OEM switches.

Any idea if they make something similar for OEM sized switches? I checked around before and couldn’t find anything.

Same boat here, was never a fan of and panels I saw on the market, just cause Im picky. But then I found these

Similar to what you are talking about. You order two end caps, as many middle sections as you want and snap them together to make any # of switches you need.

Havent installed it in the truck yet, but I did snap them together and Im really impressed with the fit. Almost not noticeable that they are individual sections. The whole assembly clicks into a cutout then the individual v-series rockers click into this.

 

I like it! But my only concern is about its "stiffness " for the most inner switchs. Without having as my sides actually touching the dash peice itself. How ridged are they? Do you think they will flex/bow in the middle?


Anyway i found this 6 piece set already fused. Gonna take some measurements tomorrow and hopefully order it for 10$

 

They felt good to me. You would for sure need a flat surface to mount the holder in though. Not many suitable options in a factory dash without first making some sort of panel

 

Wait so you dont think it will fit here if I cut it all out...best part is if it doesnt work out i can always buy the meso 7 panel kit bc it requires cutting anyway

 

Didnt realize you were 3rd gen. Looks flat enough to me. Just got to make sure there is adequate depth behind the panel

 

Should be deep enough. Already have switches there so i cant imagin needing more

 

Glad I found this, patiently waiting for the MESO puddle light switch drop and this is a far more cost effective option than having a custom switch panel printed. Plenty of room on my driver's side insert to fit 1-2 more switches.

 

Did anyone ever install these? How did they turn out? I want to add one more slot for my lights but don’t think it’s worth getting a 6/8 gang, switchpro, or a custom panel.
