No telling which version I get. I have pretty low expectations. If it doesn't fit perfectly or at least look like it does when it's mounted in, I'll get rid of it. I'm not going to stare at something that close to my face and be pissed off every day. I've done 100% of the work on my tacoma and STi including some rally cars. Modifications and fabricating isn't new to me. So if I can't make it fit and look good, it ain't possible.

My sentiments exactly. I've lived without a grab handle for over 3 years... I'll continue to do so, if it doesn't look and feel right. Like you, I've done most of the modifications on my truck, myself (excluding leather seats and CMC) and I'm very particular about the quality of said work. This piece will not be an exception.

Unfortunately, looks is about all that it is worth to me. Having an upper cover helps. LoL!

Comparing between the two so far, nothing is really jumping out on a day to day basis. While the covers look cheap and the lower one doesn't fit well (yet), the right side covers also stand out a bit when looking over there.

The nicks / scrapes in the upper handle opening are there, but I have to look directly at it to see them.

Put it this way. I found the visor stickers distracting enough to spend a decent effort removing them and cleaning up the residue. The handle is nothing like those and blends in for driving on and off road.

I've beenround and round with USPS the last few days. I finally got a package 2 days ago that departed clearwater, FL on Dec 2nd. I live near Augusta, GA. Could have walked down there, picked it up and walked back in 34 days. Then I had another package take almost 4 weeks to get to me from N Carolina. 8 hot sauces, box showed up completely wrecked 3 bottles smashed and the other 5 ruined due to excessive heat or something. Filed taht damage claim with the USPS. Probably take a month to process that.

Mine was in transit for 17 days. Label printed the 17th. Mailed the 18th. Mine arrived with mismatched covers and the wrong clipnut. The good news for you is that she probably held it for so long because she found out around the 19th that there were issues with the covers and hardware and she probably made sure your DAH was in order. Wasn't that nice of her.

I think the issues with shipping after you get a tracking number that's moving is 100% on USPS.

Partly, yes. But verifying shipping info on the 14th and not actually shipping out until the 27th is all on KTJO and her garbage business. This goes back to the first in first out rule of business that has been mentioned already. I ordered back in early december of 2019. Proof in this thread that people who ordered just a month ago, were shipped before mine.

Shipping on everything has been a shitshow in 2020. I've paid $30 for express shipping on $20 parts a few times last fall just to get them before the weather got too cold for installation. First world privileges...

That's a good point. The actual OEM covers on the right side look like they are slightly less glossy than the rest of the handle. Probably a different material than the handle itself because of the clips needing to be more pliable.

Delivered today, only issue was the m8 nut which I was prepared for and had already bought an m6. Got the correct covers which was a nice surprise (but sad that it’s a surprise to get the correct parts).

Aligning the bolts is a real pain in the ass, pulling the metal collars back helped, but made tightening everything up nerve wracking.

Got the covers to fit almost flush, but as others have said they need trimming or sanding.

Also heated up the A-pillar trim to fix the gap left between the KTJO trim and the weatherstripping, worked pretty well.

Definitely got one of the “Magically Lucky” ones, shipping issues and wrong hardware are nothing considering I ordered and had installed in less than a month. Not OEM by any means but feels solid, and following this thread has been gold.

Just curious. Did the covers come pre-installed on the handle? If not (like in your pic), then you got really lucky. Although, I think the designer tape on the bubble wrap means that it was checked?
