The type of plastic used seems very flexible by intent. I don't think you'll see any issues going forward, if they make through the first few hot summer days. We all may end up using some glue?

    Hey Tony,

Not that the title of this thread needs to be any longer, but you should add KTJO 4x4 to the title. Probably get more hits through the google and TW search engines.

None yet. You could always try some DIY hackery with another RH OEM grab handle like this guy. You'll need to drill another hole in the A-pillar steel bracket on account of the RH handle's wider bolt spacing:

I must have been lucky .... my grab iron installed just fine with no problems :). No bending of tabs or any other problems, other than having to get the correct M6 clip. I think that clip is better than what would have been supplied account it is self centering and stayed in place.

I had no problem starting the bolts and it was all done in about 30 minutes. I did note that there was a strip of foam along the leading (windshield) inside edge of the original garnish, which was not mentioned in Rob's video. I simply peeled it off and stuck it onto the new piece.

It feels good and solid and should be fine. Account I am a smaller guy with short legs I have the seat fairly far forward so there is no problem with it sticking out into my field of vision. Of course I notice that it is there, but I'll get used to it soon enough.

    Ted

Mine went about the same. Some issues getting bolts lined up but not bad. I reused the foam also.

Can you change my description on the first post to having two bottoms, and needing a top? Sorry been a long week with work and this shit added on has me all backwards.

Remember how the dashboards in some late 50's early 60's cars used to shrivel up? When they started using a lot of plastic in cars? My friends 1959 Thunderbird comes to mind.
But most here probably don't remember those days . . .

Oh yeah. The cracks and all.

The worst part was that the leather was dried out when I bought my 1996 Dodge.

They replaced the steering wheel, but I should have have them swap the rear seat back also.

Saw a couple posts about ordering the covers directly from Toyota with mixed results, looked it up and sounds like it's part# 74617-04070-C0 for the black covers. Has anyone ordered this part and can confirm it fits? I'm tempted to just order the damn thing rather than wait for some kind of response from the vendor

I haven't seen any successful reports of them fitting. You could always pull them off your passenger side to check.

Find me an original OEM steering wheel from the 60's. Mustangs come to mind, with a billion cracks on the steering wheel.

You should give yourself a neck cramp with it like in the old police TV shows.
