    MORON REPORT
we've been working on this huge commercial project, out of our normal scope of things. I've been working on it since mid-November. Sent a bunch of stuff out to the contractor just before thanksgiving. Been checking in weekly, asking how their review is going, got any questions, when are you returning everything, etc. We can be fined if they determine we are holding up the project so keeping up with things is important, just to make sure we're not the ones slacking.
So today the project manager calls me and asks how I'm doing with the drawings and when will they be done.
o_O uhhh....they ARE done. And they were sent to you back in November
SILENCE on the other end of the phone. Then "oh, I'll have to see if I still have that email"
W.T.F. She doesn't check her emails for 6 freaking weeks when she's in charge of a multimillion-dollar project?!?!?
While I wish I could have had that call recorded just for CYA purposes in the future I know that my conscience is clear and I've been doing my job. The PM? Not so much...

i keep all emails. going to start requesting read receipts on everything now too - yeah, they can choose to not send it back but at least I'm trying to track everything.
I know she was gearing up to remind me that we can be fined and had to shift gears quickly once it hit her that she actually just caused a 6 week delay herself. good times.

I have to do that with all my evaluative stuff since the unions like to point fingers first before asking questions...at least I have proof that I sent it and further proof that they read it or chose not too.

Some folks look at their job as something to do in between Facebook post. Others are professionals that take pride in their work, and their product. Good thing you're on the right side.

I mean I find a little time for TW here and there but if I've got stuff to get done then I close down TW and get my shit together.

chimichanga, more my style. I did get home a few hours early so I could spend a little time with my wife.

No contact though since she works in a covid unit and I am the last one that needs it with my recent events.

It adds a whole new fun part to our marriage. Air hugs and air kisses for now.

She sleeps in our extra bedroom. I sleep in ours.

At least she gets her second shot on Friday and my work is getting ready for us to get them soon.
