Road Force test for 35s

Hey at the stealership they are tying to talk me into road test on my 35s. Shall I do it or not they want $150. Thanks

Road test for what? $150 is about 6 hours of labor at 25 an hour....

 

Apparently is force test to get out any vibration

 

I could be wrong but I think OP is talking about road force balancing the wheels.

usual cost based on google is about $25 a wheel.

 

"Road force balancing, sometimes called ride matching, is the most effective way to diagnose and resolve runout or force variation vibrations. A road force tire balancer uses a load-roller to simulate the force of the road and gather the combined uniformity of a wheel and tire package"

I think this would assume that imbalanced tires are causing your vibes when it likely has to do with altered driveline angles from your lift. I am no expert though.

 

Price is a bit higher than normal (for 31's) but it will give you the smoothest ride possible. I like RF balancing results... even told me one of my wife's wheels was slightly bent, but the balance was so good i don't even notice it.

 

Wow!! I pulled the trigger and had it done. Went back and met the tech and he said it took 17 tries per tire. No regret

 

Road force balancing is in your owners manual . Its the way Tacoma tires are suppose to be balanced .
Most tire technicians dont take the time to do it correctly and end up throwing a bunch of sticky weights at your rims to make the balance go quicker .
Sounds like you got a good technician .

 

Right I think I got lucky for sure. He was very cool and said he just wants it done right down. It took them 5 hours to mount 35s lol. Glad I took it there vs small tire shop
