Some of us are old enough to remember metal dashboards!

Wo! I'm past mid 60's and I only seen them metal dashboards in used cars way back in the day. I believe when I got my 1st ride it was the transitional period to all plastics although the front face and glove box was still made of metal.

I got my driver's license on my 16th birthday in April 1971. I got a job and bought my first car that summer - a '63 Ford Falcon convertible - metal dash. In '72 I got a '66 Mustang Coupe - the upper dash was leather-covered by then. Sure wish I had either of them now.

Nothing to add here.. Fixing to show my age, but when I read "Her" Tag Name. I actually see 'Cujo 4x4' from the Stephen King movie back in the early 80's.:rofl: Does anybody else see that? Ok.. Back to the regularly scheduled program.

The foam is on the existing pillar panel. I didn't take any pics at the time.

What I did was take off the existing pillar, lay the new side side by side to the old, remove the foam strip from the old panel and applied it in the same orientation to the new one. Luckily my strip didn't break apart and still had good enough adhesive to stick to the new one. Sorry I didn't take pics but once you take it off you'll see. I left my phone inside and ran to the garage on my lunch break to install. Quick 30-60 second transfer and didn't seem to mess with any tolerance installing the new handle.

I ended up paying like 30 cents more for 1-3 day shipping instead of the standard.
Says it was shipped out on Jan 2nd, has been in transit since Jan 4th, and expected on Jan 12th... Not exactly the 1-3 days I paid the shipping for...

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Wow... People are actually getting these? Mine has been on order for way more than a year, and I haven't heard squat.

In theory mine should arrive on January 13th. I went ahead and ordered last week even after reading this thread in hopes that I am one of the “lucky” ones because I do want this handle. I guess if it is garbage I can try to sell it for a discounted price and hope/pray that a better option comes out but I suspect that not to be the case.

Now you need to pay 6 figures for metal dash, but airbags mitigate some of the risk:

You said six figures and posted a P-car. The unattainable wish, esp with the Williams option:
