I got my fuel pump recall done and this ECU flash ( I really did not have too many issues to complain about ) when I got the truck back, all I can say is wow! Everything feels better.
    Dead pedal feel / Gone
Shifting up to a very low rpm / gone
Low end torque you feel immediately
Shifting is almost always in the power band
    Smooth and crisp
    Love it
    Really good programming

Thanks for the additional info. 58-18 has already been applied to my truck. It didn't seem to do much. It still shifts just as busy as before, the usual up down up down repeat, won't hold a gear on grades. It doesn't shift roughly and never has so that's good. Overall the shifting isn't that bad, it's just busy and annoying on hills and I live in the Sierras so that's kinda everywhere. It's a bummer that 92-20 doesn't apply to my 2018. Is it still possible for this to be uploaded DIY even though the dealer won't do it? That'd make sense to wait until the drivetrain warranty was over. Either that or OV tune but as you said, too pricey. I'm sure I could figure this out by spending the next 8 hours reading the 202 page "ECU TSB" thread but I'm on the clock!!!

You could try to find someone in your area yo flash your ecu with vf tune/ OV tune for a small fee. I m sure there's one near you. I'm glad I did on my 2017.

I had T-SB-0092-20 applied to my 2020 OR on Monday Jan 4. It is almost like I have a different truck. The biggest benefit aside from the minimal gear hunting on my drive home from the office, is the pedal response. It's a huge difference to me, and I would not have even known about it without this post. Everyone who is eligible should do this IMO.

How do you know if this TSB is applied from factory? I drove a 17 it was awful. My 20 is great except for cruise control gear hopping.

Have a Bluetooth ODB2 scanner? The cheapie I had laying around from years ago was able to report the ECU. Picked up a Tactrix and flashed my 2020 with 04B81 and am very happy. Just feels smooth overall. I’d recommend it

You can go to AutoZone (and some other Auto Parts Stores also), borrow their OBD2 Scanner, and use it to read your ECU ID (Calibration ID); which is found under the 'Vehicle Identification' menu - for free.

Are any of the personalized settings for the head unit and information display reset when the dealership performs this fix?

Just had it done with service visit at Temecula valley Toyota. Happy with results so far.

There is one hill near my house where the trans would keep trying 4th, then try locking the torque converter, then bog, then jump to 3rd, then back to 4th, etc.

After the TSB the trans stayed in 4th longer, then decisively flipped to 3rd at a steeper section and stayed there until the hill flattened out a little. Most noticeable was the speed that the ECU would shift and lock the torque converter. That process used to take a second or so and the truck would feel unresponsive while it made the bad decision to lock the TC and bog the engine. Now shifting/locking happens instantly, and when needed. Good job Toyota.

I know what torque converter lock up is but how do you know it is taking place. I always thought in newer transmissions is was designed to feel unnoticeable?
