i was looking at a pre-owned audi recently, but it was a year old and cpo. otherwise i wouldn't look at one.

i've heard that the market on the allroads is really soft (i was looking at those at one point, reached out to a friend with an audi store), and he recommended against it

spring market isn't going to help you, but there's usually a dip in prices third quarter, dunno if you can wait that long

you might hate this option, but i was recently looking at the subaru legacy touring xt because i wanted:
    awd
    heated and vented seats
    carplay
    heated rear seats
    heated steering wheel
    under $35k

Rob @mach1man001 , any word on the truck? Hopefully the powers that be at Toyota recognize that your truck needs a shiny new frame courtesy of Toyota.

Friend's girlfriend has a Tiguan with the 2.0T. The turbo gave up, fortunately just barely within the warranty.

A friend has an '18 Forester XT Touring and I'm not impressed. The seats are like boards, the infotainment isn't good (slow, no android auto even though it's a 2018) and it's got a lot of road noise. I did a side job with him in Wisconsin about a year ago and I pleaded with him to take his work truck spec 2010 F-150 because it's so much more comfortable and quieter. I suspect the Legacy/Outbacks are a step up. I liked my '04 and '08.

My mom has owned Outbacks for years, I think she's on her 4th or 5th one now and no, they aren't any better. Her newest one, I think it's a '20, is more comfortable than her past ones, but I still can't sit in it on a long road trip, the seats are terrible. The new one is the most comfortable and it's absolutely loaded, it's her retirement car, and it's still not something I get excited to ride in or drive. So far, of all the cars she's owned, the one I liked the best was a Taurus limited. It was very quick and very comfortable.

I grew up in Hingham..my folks are by no means wealthy, just had a lot of home equity upon buying their first house in the 1970s and were lucky my dad's job moved us a couple of times for promotions and helped even with getting settled.

My parents bought new in 1982..nice double dead end street, an acre. Look up 2 Deerfield Road on Zillow now...understand the back of the house was added onto b/c the new owners wanted a Jacuzzi in the master.

Really? I used to rent base model legacies to go to vt for work and I loved them. Maybe the leather seats are stiffer

My Mom had a 2015 Forester (same generation as the 2018) and traded it in for a 2019 Forester. She only had the 2.5i Premium, but they are night and day in the interior. The seats are significantly more comfortable, the dash layout is better, etc. Hers has CarPlay (though teaching her how to use it would be like teaching a rhino to tap dance), but I don't know if it has AA. It's also a bit quieter in the cabin too.

    Morning, potatoes. TGIF!

This was a long week. I could get used to that "3.5 days on, 3.5 days off' schedule from the last couple of weeks

My parents had four different Tauruses when I was a kid spanning three generations of that car. They were all pretty reliable, the issues that got to them were usually rust related.

I had an '04 and '08 Outback that I liked a lot but I stopped buying them when the 4th generation came out. I didn't like the crossover look.

Based on the square footage, lot size, age, etc. I'd say Zillow has it at around triple what it would be worth here.

It might mainly be the passenger seat. It isn't power, so the adjustability isn't there and there's very little cushion. I am not comfortable even for short trips. The only vehicle I've been in that was similarly bad was a Frontier.

His has neither CarPlay or AA. I'd think they would come at the same time, and 2018 seemed late to not have it.

He was upset that they dropped the Forester XT after 2018 and it's one of the things that would push him back to an Outback. I think that's one thing his does well, the drivetrain is very good even with the CVT.

I get President's day off, weirdly enough. But yeah, other than that it's a long stretch.
I usually take a few days in February for a winter camping/rabbit hunting trip, but my buddy that I usually go with is expecting a daughter in late March/early April, so we'll see how his wife feels. Being very pregnant with two young boys running around might mean she won't be up for 4 or 5 days of solo parenting while he and I go play in the woods, so this year that trip may not happen

Yeah, I don't get MLK or Presidents Day off. But I'm going to take a week in early March to go snow machining.
