I happen to know that the Oem bed mat starts to flap around at around 100mph (in Mexico of course).
If these trucks could go any faster I’d think that one would eventually fly out at a ridiculous speed.

I drilled through the mat and put a single bolt through it and the front center bed drain hole though.

I am thinking of getting a locking door for the bed storage. The tailgate has a lock, but I am thinking of getting a hinge lock also. I won't loose sleep if someone steals my wipers. But if I can prevent things from getting stolen by simply locking them and not drawing attention to thieves, I will. The first thing I did when I got my last pickup truck was install the PopLock on the tailgate. That was the best aftermarket accessory I ever got. Although I am sure an experienced criminal could bypass a PopLock easily also.

I know worrying about someone stealing a bed mat sounds silly to some. I live in one of the highest property crime areas in the country, and it's not a joke. All tweekers want is something they can cash in for their next hit. Someone nearby just had a large pot stolen and a neighbor had a bench snatched, both from out of their front yards, if that gives you any idea of what they'll take. Grabbing a bed mat is easy compared to either of those.

I used to have a similar problem with tie down straps a long time ago. It would never fail, need to tie something down...gone. The worst was when I wanted to load up the Motocross bike and no straps.

Something changed that after a range day. One of my brass bags broke open and to be honest, got lazy. I has some brass all over the bed for a long time. Strangest thing happened...nothing went missing for the longest time. Even though I have a garage to park in now, I still put casings in my bed for shitzngiggles.

For one, welcome in new comer.
The bed mat thing, truly millions of trucks have bed mats, unless unused, and still in plastic wrap, I don’t think anyone is going to steal it.
When I had Tacomas, they all had bed mats, all trucks attained factory limited speeds without loosing the bed mats.
    Happy Friday mf’ers
