Just had a set of the LTX M/S (stock size) put on - I'll be riding around my farm tonight - I'll put 1K miles on them this week...I'll know soon enough LOL. I certainly am pleased at all the reviews.

Am looking forward to your off road/farm land report on them.

I have unintentionally done a few little spin outs on dry pavement with them, leaving from traffic signals. I'm guessing they need a little break in period. Hopefully after a few hundred miles, they won't keep doing that.

The company I work for runs this tire on all of our work vehicles as well.. it’s a solid choice. Excellent in wet weather, no noise, and passable in snow.

The factory tires are not the same as the retail versions. The factory tires have a lower UTQG will wear out faster than regular retail with higher UTQG rating.

The stock Goodyear Kevlar are lighter than the retail Goodyear Kevlar also, if I remember correctly.

Just returned from th dealership - they were not balanced properly...I drove around 400 miles yesterday on them and there was a bit of a vibration. I will post later on how they handle out on my property.

I will certainly post after I drive around my property and other areas - in bad (usually wet) weather.

Most OR's I see have never seen mud. Hankook DynaPro AT-m's might be worth looking into. Had them on my Titan. Exceptionally smooth and gave me 2-3mpg more than my Duratrac's I was running.

They are having to replace the tires - they are not balancing...they say they show 'OK" but the ride is still not smooth...I'm getting them replaced tomorrow (they say they are ordering 4 but planning on trying to replace the rear and see if that works).

Yeah it has happened to me with several tires (on different vehicles) - not sure why. Perhaps my body is so sensitive - all my years riding horses perhaps (LOL). I drive a lot (about 50K per year) so I am very conscious of the ride. My dealership is always very accommodating so it is not really a big problem. There is a dealership about 2 miles from my main office (a little over an hour from my home). If they balance tomorrow morning I will be out in the fields tomorrow night as we are getting some hay delivered and moving it around and I will get to see how the tires perform for my needs (it supposed to rain/snow so I can get a good idea).

Good luck, had the same problem years ago on a Mazda 6, shop wasn’t even able to balance them. Tire rack made it right though.

OK - I believe a couple of folks asked for me to get back and say how these are doing. I had to get 2 tires replaced as they would not balance correctly - they are properly balanced as of yesterday morning, but I have driven a few days and about 1200 miles so far on these tires. I have spent (at least) several hours in 4wd (mostly around our property). As far as road handling/performance - since the balance issue was resolved the tires are very grippy and smooth, this morning I dove 2-3 hours in the rain/snow and this tire is responsive and sure footed. As for the off road experience (mostly last night and early morning) - I have driven around our river (very soft, sandy and river rock mostly), around the barn and pastures (this morning it has been snowing/raining all night so it is very soft and muddy), slight rolling hills (mud, small rocky areas, etc).

My take is the tires are surpassingly capable. As far as looks, my son's Duratrac 33" tires (on his lifted 2002 Tacoma SR5 TRD OR) look 'tougher' without a doubt. However these tires were definitely a good choice for me. My daily commutes are long (just normal trip to my office is 120 mile round trip). They will perform for my needs - on and off road - and I will not need to worry about them...sort of like the Tacoma. I have to give a thumbs up so far to the LTX Defenders. I certainly appreciate all who suggested these tires (as well as the many other folks that gave suggestions that I considered). Considering I drive 45-55K miles per year, I get to try out a lot of different tires If I want. As of today I believe I have probably found my tire...If something changes I will post.

They sound great, looking forward to how you feel after a year. This should be a good review as you have both on and off road driving with them. Thanks for the update.

I'm hoping after one year I have not had to get a new set (LOL)...this is my 3rd set of tires, bought the truck new in Jan of 2019.

Yeah no kidding - when I replaced the tacoma's tires LY I had 3 other vehicles due tires - I believe I spent around 4K on tires in one week. The price you pay (literally) when you have a 3 teens (1 in college and the other 2 leave this year) and a stay at home wife who drives a lot. Don't ask what I spent on the horses!!! Friends ask me when I am going to retire...my response is a hard throated laugh.
