that's a good article! they are a really cool company. I like how they have the modular frame even though it is a little heavy. I would still consider the GG for my next bike. I wonder how they have been impacted by the supply chain issues since they are made in the US.

Made in the US and have US material suppliers.

I imagine they were less effected than others, but they still run SRAM/Shimano components, etc. So they're frames were prob OK, but the rest of the bike still has issues

Yeah that makes sense. It does look like most of their 29ers are sold out right now though...I forgot how good the price of their frames are haha

Totally. And even if you are a sick rider, your social media game takes just as much time, since that's what a lot of companies are really paying for these days.

The upside of that is: If you can create interesting and creative content, you don't have to shred *as* hard. Caveat being that you aren't getting the top tier sponsors like the pros are.

Example: Seth is a great rider, but his content is what got him sponsorships, etc. He'd prob be top half in a local enduro race.

Such a good deal vs the competition. Only gripe I have is they are still a small company, so when I wanted to demo a bike before I bought one, they really had no options if you aren't in the Denver area.

yeah that is definitely a good point, it would be nice to demo one before committing to it

More money and less stress I imagine being a creator vs being a pro rider. How much do MTB riders make now anyways, anyone got sources on what the top pay was for professional MTB?

redbull had a video on it a long time ago. Top top is probably Aaron Gwin...in the millions is folks' guess.

In 2017 Gwin made just ~$1M. He def makes ore now, but he's also a big wig at Intense + racing.

"In professional cycling, things are decidedly less extravagant. When recently asked about his annual earnings, five time World Cup overall champion Aaron Gwin estimated his annual compensation to be about $1 million after factoring in salary, sponsorships, bonuses, prize money, and royalties from signature products."

Top 10 riders are six digits reportedly. Everybody else less than $50k annually, in my experience. This is a generalization. For perspective, an important rider clause as a pro is the ability to sell your bike after the year (vs giving it back). That should speak for itself on salary expectations

I love the Dakine Hot Laps Gripper. It holds everything I need for minor problems...tube, 2 levers, 2 CO2s, plug kit, tool (it's a Topeak tool that has everything plus it holds an extra chain link).
    IMG-9868.jpg
I also recently discovered the Specialized "Keg." It's essentially half of a water bottle with a large, screw-on top. Holds the same stuff as above, minus the tool (bike has the SWAT tools in the steerer tube).IMG-9867.jpg

I'd wager theres some healthy GoPro effect going on with his stuff. The trailcam channels are a little different I suppose, but I'd wager he could easily outride me.

thats a possibility and im not sure your level of riding. but seeing him brake check on jumps and case a lot makes me think i could do some dh stuff better. he probably has better lungs for the climbs than i do though. xc race, all him. enduro, i like to think id take it

I don't watch his channel hardly at all, but I sorta remember what you're talking about.

I'm not beating anyone in a race usually, but that's not why I ride.

Edit: Did take DFL+1 in my last CX race, and I was on a 29+ hardtail!
