Will hopefully get a front bumper built early next year. Grabbed this Smittybilt x20 12k synthetic winch on sale for $505 & a couple f55 goodies to pair with it.
I’m finally doing a regear next month. Will be doing Nitro gear 5:29 with all new bearings & seals, cryo treatment To the rear diff & an Eaton E locker for the front. Stay tuned for pics of me pulling the diffs in my garage and taking them to local Gear legend “Zuk” for the labor.

@Dex__43 these are the shocks I was talking about for your relocate if you're not dropping the extra cash on kings/ads. I'm sure OP could field questions if you have any about them.

$360 shipped for my pair of Bilstein 7100 14” short bodies and after sorting out the top bushing spacer I couldn’t be happier with my choice. These shocks are killer

5:29, with REM treated rear ring and pinion, Eaton locker all waiting for the next couple weeks once I have time to pull the diffs. Meanwhile I started to acquire my new wheels. Slowly but surely. 17x9 -14. I’ll need to add 1.75” spacers for these, which is a bummer.

    RE 5.29

This a trail only rig and you got a DD? Or is this your DD? I sure wouldn't mind 5.29 offroad, but went 4.88s on 35s because it is my DD.

Or, did I miss you're jumping to 37s?

    Either way, jealous.

It is my DD/trail rig. All in one. After HEAVY discussion on how I use my truck (both on the trail and on road) I have decided on 5:29 as the correct selection. I have discussed this at length w people who are far more experienced than me with gearing and toyotas (Zuk gear legend and my local fabricator Joe G). Ultimately I did the calculator tool to confirm everything would be tolerable for highway RPMS and it will be fine. Yes I will have higher Hwy RPMs than 4:88 but at the benefit in every other area or aspect of driving on and off road. It will also reduce strain on the powertrain to have 5:29 and the engine braking even around town is gonna be sick. Not to mention how powerful my crawling gear will be in 4low. All these things heavily considered and the fact that almost 90% of my wheeling is all within 1 hr or so from my house. This isn’t a cross country rig, it’s a townie DD and trail toy. Also - years from now I do hope to have 37’s but not before a dual transfer case and maybe LT

Right on. I went through this as well, but I'm a DD that is not only around town and I'm sticking with 35s. 5.29s are going to be rad for your truck.

The downside to such deep gearing would be the reduce gear contact area making breakage more likely if you shock load the gears (heavy towing, rock crawling, jumping, etc.)
