PS lol, I had my egg and cheese omelet with a few little smokies at 9 AM break. The apple and banana just substitute for little debbie six shooter donut pack...or 2

My two run every day at 4:30pm. Now that I trust the bulldog to not go after it I could probably change that to while I'm at work but the schedule I have means it only runs for about 30 minutes anyway. And by 4:30 I'm home to make sure the dog toys aren't in the way.

I wish I only had to worry about a couple dog toys. I normally need to hunt down about 50-75 hotwheels before mine can terrorize the dust bunny colonies.

First thing was to see if I could get some threads on it. It’s now 9/16-12. That was tough, this thing is hard as a rock.

I’m open to suggestions besides welding this on to make it tight before the nut goes on. The hub is in okay shape, the axle wore the most. I tried the good hub from the other side and it was loose as well.

They always are a little loose, but anything excessive will only wear everything more. If you do weld it, just see how the rear end comes apart first. the axle will need to pull through the housing to get it out, so keep that in mind.

Boys are 16 and 15. No Hotwheels on the floor for me anymore. But I do still have a huge basket of them. And a ton of Legos. And Nerf guns. And...

I may try putting some small welds on the worn part of the axle and grinding/filing it to fill up the loose spots, I hate to weld it solid and I also hate to have it fail.

I also thought about getting some kind of liquid metal filler to put in it and let it set up hard, but not sure how long that would last either.

That's 3 phase, correct? I never understood 3 phase and how reversing a couple wires would change motor direction.

I think something just to fill the gaps would hold the rest of the machines life. Almost embarrassing to post that picture but I got rid of my welder a couple years before this picture. It held up amazingly well, of course there was a SS clip that went over it and a new caliper on, the root cause

I see how that’s worn now that I look at it closer, that’s probably a good plan. I see them wear like that on the 300 fourtrax 4wd machines where someone looses a cotter pin, the nut backs off, the wheel loosens up and wears the rear axle. Luckily somebody in China makes eBay axles for those, not sure about the wolverine. Your axle doesn’t look that bad though I bet you can fix it.
