You should see the strollers she is looking at.

Nice thing is we have a couple of friends with babys that will be almost a year when ours is born so we should be getting some hand-me-downs. Boy and a girl so will be getting clothes either way, which is nice since we are waiting to find out what ours is.

It doesn't ever get cheaper with kids either. YAY, out of daycare, into school. Then you have school fees / clubs, activities, after school care, etc. Then they get old enough to somewhat take care of themselves. Then they start driving, yay. and crash cars, and insurance goes up, yay. Then (maybe) college. test fees, test prep fees, college application fees, yay. got good news today though, started a small college fund for the kid ~10-12 years ago, chucked $50 in it per month, my financial guy says its valued at over $22k today. not enough to buy college, but will help offset some of the costs associated with it. Do this, and do it early......

Good idea. I had briefly looked at 529s and UTMAs. Need to do some more reading though.

Yea because I'm at the age where evrey one I know is crapping out their 3rd or forth kid and I have to hear them whine about it and had to hear it from my parents:rofl:

Not having kids ever, we both agree our genetic material should not be passed on. My wife can't have kids anyway and I never wanted them so we are on the same page, we are good with rental kids (nieces and nephews).

You mean the expensive ass ($700++) running strollers and shit? Yeah, we had some of those that were bought and sold.

Now we have the Veer wagon/stroller that cost $800 + $200 in accessories.

The Uppababy is the one she wants. And yeah she will want a running one in addition to this.

I have a 529 for our oldest since she was bornt. It's at around $5k already.

When people ask what to get her for birthday or holidays, we give them the account number and tell them to deposit money into her college fund, if they don't know what to get her.

Same here. I never really wanted kids and the wifey told me the first few months into dating that if I wanted kids we should go our separate ways. Nothing but respect for those who take on parenthood, it’s not for me though.

Only concern with the 529 is that is must be used for education (I think), though it can be transferred to another person. Hard to know what college is going to look like in 19 years.

yeah, that's just too fucking expensive. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

She totally has "first kid syndrome", best of luck to you. It gets better with the second kid.

We had a BOB that cost like $600 new and I about shit myself when I saw that on the bank account.
