You know what you must do :boink:
Best time for BMW's. They looked so cool and so small.

Unless they have improved since the late 2000's the M was not super reliable. NOW that doesn't mean I wouldn't have one and I have actually looked for some. My friend had an M3 and that car was a TON of fun to drive. I looked at an M5 and came close to pulling the pin but with the engine problems they had I actually felt like that's what I was doing. It was a grenade waiting to go off. I think they became a lot less reliable with the VANOS system. Now I'm probably not any better with the car I want and the car I have. Early 2000's 911's have the IMS bearing issues (great aftermarket replacement solves it though). My Jag has the stupid plastic cooling pipes that run under the super charger (again great replacement part available). Fun cars almost always have some weakness, won't stop me from owning them though. :)

I think the 3-series peaked with the first generation. The E36 drives like the 80s 5-series, but with better suspension. The E30 3-series is so visceral. You can feel everything driving them and they're like go-carts when you mod them.

I have no doubt it's fast.

My wife saw an X8 the other day in the parking lot and really liked it. She REALLY wants a Range Rover, we test drove one before we got her the Navigator but couldn't get a deal put together. When this one is all worn out we will try to get her a Rover (ya not real dependable either lol)

Absolutely. My budget is what is stopping me:anonymous:
I haven't driven any of the newer ones. Once they got rid of the manuals (not saying i haven't driven fantastic paddle shifters) I just didn't care. Plus too many distractions in the cockpit. I just want a tach, speedo, oil, and gas. Plus the volvo let's me dim every light so you can drive with minimal glare/distractions at night.

I know it’s hard to believe me since we didn’t take any pictures, but my dad bought a 1987 328es back when I was 9 or 10. Not to be confused with the 328i, the es was some sort of special German market model in which everything was in German making it super hard to work on

My tricked-out 1990 VW Polo was a fun as my 318i. Those late-80s, early-90s European cars are so fun.

My other bosses mom has a supercharged Range Rover autobiography. At the time of purchase, it was the only Matte Black model in Texas. It’s an absolute beauty and feels like a solid driving vehicle. I’ve only ridden in it, haven’t had the chance to drive it

I'm familiar. The 328es was the economy version of the 328i. It used a different Bosch fuel injection than the sportier 328i.

My 318i M-sport was un-importable as there was no version BMW recognized as similar for import, so I had to sell it at a loss of about $5k and leave it on Germany in 2012. :pout:

I learned the word Achtung! from that car lol. Every label and sticker that it had was in German. Only American thing on it was the speedometer which was in miles rather than kilometers

That red digital display sending messages in German was a cool touch. I had that in my 3-series and 5-series. I would mess with my German girlfriends by mispronouncing the words on the display or road signs lol.

I like the mustache grill but the new M grille looks just as ugly as an Alfa Romeo

I’d like to learn German some day and will definitely visit Germany at some point in my lifetime. Great food, beer, and cars
