Feeler/Interest gauge for 12-15 blackout interior parts

So some dealers are picky and won’t order parts for you if your truck if the vin shows it didn’t come with that part. I’ll assume yours is silver like most trucks, so your vin will show that, the parts guy may say sorry doesn’t show for your vin. Some parts guys don’t care.

 

I have an SR5 and it fits just fine.

Off topic but where can you find that TRD startup screen wallpaper that’s on the 4th picture of the first post? I’ve looked everywhere for it.

Happen to have a non-cropped version with the logo centered with an inch or so of black negative space? Preferably 1200+ pixels.

I know beggars can’t be choosers but you have a great idea. If you send me your source file I’ll gladly do it.

Haha, when I had my truck I had to force myself to stop looking at TW for awhile.. It obviously didn't work.

Let me know if this works. I just added the photo onto a 2400x2400 black background. If you know the exact size you need I can crop it down as needed.

Has anyone changed their silver climate control to an all black climate control I have an 09 and I don't want a silver climate control and I want to get rid of the orange lights

 

i did. i had to call a junk yard to get one. just be careful on which one you get. there is a glossy finish and a matte finish.... matte finish looks better..... i can show you a pic of mine. i also had to change some wiring in the connector and also swap the polarity on the circuit board.... i am a novice at that stuff but i was able to do it... not sure if you would have to do the same because mine is an 07 ...

 

Hi everyone so I'm going to be "that guy" and ask because I'm not clear after reading a few pages here.

1. Is everyone just taking the part numbers from page one and calling their local dealers to order the blackout parts or is Titus-Will Toyota in Tacoma WA still honoring some kind of pricing scheme for Taco World members? Any of these parts getting scarce in 2021?

2. If I have a 2013 4x4 with an entune head unit is there anything special I should know when ordering these parts? (any year variations to be aware of)

3. How about the shifter rod and knob assembly, anyone done anything creative there to dechrome?

Maybe I can answer question 1 and 2 or provide some additional info to help.
Somewhere on this thread I believe it says Titus-Will isn't doing the price scheme any longer. You're on your own.
Just purchased the parts for my 2015 DCSB TRD OR as show below (no radio bezel needed since I'm already doing a stereo upgrade).
Parts purchased online from Boch Toyota / EB Toyota Parts as they were the cheapest by about $30 over competitors.
Parts don't seem scarce - I got mine shipped to me in about 1 week or less.

I didn't do anything for the shifter knob because frankly I forgot about it until now. OE leather TRD black shift knobs are like $80 IIRC. Some people have gone with billet aluminum ones from aftermarket but it's all up to your tastes.



Edit 3/9/21: Just finished installing them tonight, only took about an hour. Big improvement. Thanks to everyone in this thread who contributed up to this point and made it easy for me to get rid of that hideous silver trim.

Finally finished mine a few weeks back. All black is the way to go. @Checkvalve i went with a Teton Workshop shifter. The pinstripe on the shifter is grey or you can go all black. Also put Hondo Garage radio knobs
