I haven't tried that. It was around town so It didn't warrant airing down. I'll have to try it next snow, whenever that is.

I don’t mean like air down air down lol. What I mean is I run my tires at set psi that I figure works good for me year round but around the time of the first snow fall I’ll drop the tire pressure to about 28-30 to help with traction in the snow and pump them back up to “normal” in the spring. Granted my truck is far different than a land cruiser so you’ll need to play around and see what works for you/ doesn’t feel sketchy whatever. Also my drive to work is only 14 miles on country roads, I’d probably leave it a little higher if I was on the highway for a long distance but if that was the case I wouldn’t be daily driving with expensive mud tires either lol

Yea holy shit man, 45psi!? Have you tried a chalk test? I’d be surprised if you need to be over 40.

my 100 series (stock w/stock tires) only wants 29 front and 32 rear.

my tacoma with older 315/75/16 STT’s I fill up to like 35, and it’s a heavy truck.

Truck weighs 5800 lbs and tires were wearing at the edges with my duras and these, had to go from 40 to 45 and no more edge wear. But I have huge TJM long travel shocks with OME Heavies and I can guarantee it rides smoother than any Tacoma on here. :p

Yea I saw the pic but wasn’t a story behind it. I thought you mentioning it maybe your Dad’s cousin’s cousin’s barber was there and you’d tell us what had happened :D

Shit can go from casual to fucked out there.
Was out there not to long ago with @cynicalrider and @HuneyBear69 we got to a spot with a big crowd and kept our distance. After a bit the crowd rolled out driving pass us and before the last truck went by they all turned around and went back to a jeep in the group that was all of a sudden on its roof. Really puts subbing in a puddle in perspective lol

I ran 255/801/7 Maxx at 40-42 for years and had even wear and loved it. Moved to 285/75/17 and tried to run them at 40lbs and it felt off. Lowered to 38lbs and was much better on road. Also overall weigh in 6000lbs. Is alignment ruled out for tire wear?

I have a solid axle so just have a toe to adjust. Caster is adjusted via bushings. The Pros are like driving on Lego blocks..lol

I have 255/75-17 and run them at 37.5 cold so likely 40ish hot. Only real issue I have is in the rain the ass end is tail happy but otherwise it's pretty smooth. Even with HD rear leafs and an empty bed right now it's not terrible. It's the only way I've found to get over 13MPGs.

Yeh with my LC I have rear drawers, 85lb spare, HiLift, compressor and tank and sleeper platform. So my weight is distributed close to equal front to rear. No tail happy back end in mine. That would be an adventure.

Yeah, I'm in process of re doing it all. I'll have a decked system (205 lbs), my fridge and slide back in, and the GFC superlight RTT which is 80lbs. Once all that's back in it'll ride much smoother.

This conversation really makes me wonder about my sanity lol. I have HD dakars, air bags at 30psi and mud tires at 40 psi and my truck feels like a damn Cadillac going down the road compared to the shit I drive at work all day
