Of course not, I just cleaned the truck out before heading out this morning... I'm gonna stop at the nearest store and get a shower curtain or some other clear barrier while I do the project I came over for. I've got a new window on order at a window repair place when I get back

It can be the slides in the tracks, not the window itself. Over time, bits of dust and dirt get in there and can put extra friction in the tracks.

I'm at an auto glass shop right now, I'll find out shortly. Normally wouldn't be a big deal, it's just that it's raining and I'm far from home. Current situation is suboptimal

Mill Creek Lowes lost 1.5 million dollars in product to theft in 2020. Prosecutors and Judges do not give a damn about property crime.

Not sure on the number but wouldnt be surprised if over the year the "lost goods" added up to that much. Id be surprised if that number was 100% confirmed stolen goods or if it also included items just written off due to not being able to find them instore as well.

Milwaukee Tools used to be (still is?) a major target. You'd see people load up a cart with tools and just push it right out the door. Now it seems like the stores tether/keep the tools in cages to help prevent that. it was amazing to go on offerup/craigslist and see great deals for the tools and they all just happened to have been "gifts" lol

Direct from a managers mouth. Bellingham Lowes had a loss of $750k. Like said by the poster above, these numbers were attributed to theft but probably totals all "missing product" not found during inventory.

I was in the chikfila drive thru in Lynnwood next to the lowes and watched a homeless guy run out of the store with a shopping cart full of power tools. He put one foot on the cart and then pushed it thru the parking lot like he was in the Iditarod. Not a single employee behind him. Now, it's presumptive of me to assume that a guy who looked completely homeless was homeless and that he didn't pay for the tools that he came running out of the store with but...he was a homeless dude that stole a cart full of tools in one swipe.

Better to steal from a corporation than from individual citizens. Not condoning it but, to me, there’s a difference

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
Yeah but don't think that it's actually coming out of the corporation's pocket. All that it does is drive the prices of the items they sell higher for the individual citizens buying them to offset the cost of the stolen goods and investments in greater security.

CVJs in, but last time I did my ujoints I guess I picked the wrong size or some shot because the clips don’t want to fit in perfectly after one snapped out last time my CVs blew.

Anyone know what they used for the front u-joints successfully? According to this thread https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/u-joints.698353/

I actually called spicer when I was doing this and they mentioned Spicer-513x should work but my experience had differed. I checked for any falling needles in the cap and they were good too. Flange itself is pretty massaged now from trying to seat the caps further.
    Spicer 5-213X U-Joint Kit I have Spicer-513x

CVJ picture for something more interesting lol

Wow, that is looking great! Amazing job, that looks quite stout. Did you fabricate the tire carrier? It looks super cool, you should totally do a write up on this thing.

Ha I am in Lake Stevens what would you charge someone to throw this together? I have a canopy most of the time though so that may or may not add some complexity for the angle of the tire holder not sure

Home Depot in Issaquah has cameras with a monitor right there, and it chimes when you walk down the aisle. I imagine there could potentially be a smaller number of larger thefts that may skew that number... that's complete conjecture though in my armchair opinion, who knows, maybe it's just a corporate tax at this point.

EDIT: I also know they have several folks there 24 hours a day, no idea if it's for security.
