    Good Morning everyone!
    Belated happy birthday
    Good luck truck hunting
    Welcome!
    Welcome!
(I think that summarizes the week)

In celebration of work still being so busy & it being Friday (I thought it was Thursday?) I'm going in late & leaving early!
...because no Fridays should be for everyone, not just the people who work for us at (Danbury) town hall! Rat B'st'ds! :)

Get the frontier. Those things are reliable as hell and been around forever, which means parts are cheap and people know how to fix them.

My BIL has one and loves it.

Don't let these guys derail you. Frontier isn't the sexiest name but its sure as shit the best option of what you listed so far.

Haha thanks man. We're now considering older 4Runners, trying to avoid financing. The Frontier we checked out wasn't bad. A little blah I guess

Yes they are not exciting. But at this point the later model ones seem to be very reliable.

Old 4Runner would be fun, just check it out real well so you don’t get some big surprise Maintence bills

@mike - wondering about the Canton area - how do you like it? My son and his girlfriend are looking to move from an apt in Bloomfield to a rental house or maybe even buying a house soon. He works in Farmington and she works in Bloomfield although she is home 100% of the time for the foreseeable future. Thought the Canton area would be a nice commute split. Plus we have a lake house in Winstead. Everything is in a 20-25 minute radius. Only driven through but looks to be a really nice rural area.

FYI-my #1 daughter drives a RAV4 (second one), she lives in the mountain west and is a "professional adventurer" and puts on 10's of K miles every year driving on road, off road, mountains, extremely remote areas and neither has ever let her down. In fact her older one (forget year) she was able to make a bed in the back for herself and her dog & all her camping/expedition gear! Great mpg and I believe she traded it in w/around 200,000 miles! Picked up a 2019 last year from Hertz for a good price, w/factory warranty intact, and all maintenance records....I know more that you /she wants to spend...just saying RAV seems to be another solid Toyota product...
    Good Luck!

The wife and I love it. Its definitely a nice town, and if they are buying, taxes here tend to be a bit lower than surrounding towns like Avon, Simsbury, and Farmington, while retaining great services like schools, emergency services, etc. If renting, there are a handful of decent spots to rent that I have see come up over the years; just a matter of timing.. Easy commute to where I work in Simsbury.

Plenty to do between hiking, kayaking, skiing/snowboarding (Ski Sundown is right down the road in New Hartford). Flyfishing. Rails to trails for biking and walking. And downtown Collinsville is a really cool little area (excluding the covid factor). Good food. They usually have a massive Halloween parade downtown that the little kiddos love, theres usually music going on at LaSalle market during the weekends, and theres a cool little venue for music/comedy called Bridge Street Live. We saw Shuli Egar there a couple years back and it was one of the cooler venues I have been to; more intimate/personal due to its small size.

Plenty of cool wildlife around between the Eagles, Bears, Foxes. We caught a bobcat on our trail cams last week.

I can keep going but thats a “quick” highlight.

Thanks Mike - They are definitely the outdoor adventure types and good to know about all that stuff. Probably will start by renting and see how they like the area after living there for a year. Of course they have not settled on a specific town yet but thought I would mention Canton to them. It's just there are so many expensive upscale towns in the neighbor hood where they work, like Simsbury, West Hartford etc... and that's too much for them.

First time finding Heady outside Vermont. And within a couple miles of home. Happy Friday indeed.

Started to rotate the Tacoma's tires today , What a bitch.

The rims and brake drum's have anti sense to keep the corrosion in check--That works, the problem was that water had settled between the Sports wheels and drum's-- the front rims not so much.

A bucket of hot water pored over the wheel and drum and a swift kick of the tire --came right off. With the Covid issue i haven't been doing a lot of driving 1800 miles since September 2020 so the water froze and locked the wheels to the drum.

    Glad i wasn't changing a tire due to a flat .

Clean the drum and rim --reapply anti seize etc.

Tomorrow ill do the other side as today wore me out.
