Go get a shot and then your Heman for at least a little while. Those things are the only thing keeping me off the OR table at this point. Just had to have shots in my shoulders. Been dealing with herniated discs in my back since 2004/5 around the same time, car accident did mine in.

I had issues off and on with mine. Surgery was suggested, and I told them to stuff it. Any surgical option looks like a band-aid to me. And that's if it works. In 2007, I was in so much pain that I couldn't sit, stand, or walk without cussing like I had Tourettes. I was so against surgery that I got into a full-on yelling match with the surgeon. I happened upon spinal decompression. I had serious doubts that it would work. I paid out of pocket with the thinking that if it didn't work I was only out money. If I got surgery, I was out more than that. In a few months I was down at Disney walking the parks. A year later I was running from people shooting at me in hot locales. Other than some muscle pulls I haven't had an issue since then.

My back probably isn't as bad as what you guys are talking about, but probably only because I pay attention to the warning signs any time I think it's going to act up.

Spinal decompression like hanging upside down type stuff? Yeah my back doctor is of the school of thought that surgery is the last resort when all other options are exhausted. With herniated discs though nothing would alleviate the pain since they are enflamed and contacting the spinal cord, so steroid shots to them instantly kills the inflammation and brings on relief. I don't need them all that often thankfully. It's fun when nerves are messed with and you feel like you're missing a leg or it's being pulled off your body.

It's more like the traction table if you've been on that. Except the decompression table is split and moves. It was the big, new thing at the chiropractor at that time. I tried everything before that. Shots, acupuncture, physical therapy, traditional chiropractic, pain killers. Nothing was working.

I never had warning signs. The muscle tweaking I sometimes would and I could catch that at the pass. The sciatic/back pain was something different.

I have no warning signs all of a sudden my back muscles become extremely tense to protect my spine in that area and my rt leg and hip joint hurt like a biotch.
