Best Bed Combo: Decked + ???

I just ordered the Decked drawer system for my 2017 TRD Sport 4x4 DCSB. I was originally going to combo this with 14" RCI or VooDoo bed rack and RTT. Now I'm thinking I might want to keep this brand new drawer system clean from all the sand and dust here in SoCal.

What are some alternatives? Let's see your set up!

 

You might find yourself disappointed with the Decked. I had one in a full size truck and it just uses up way too much bed space for the storage it offers, which will be even worse in a tiny Tacoma bed. The Decked is also tall enough off the bed that it makes keeping anything on top if it somewhat hazardous as there isn't much of the bedside left to keep it inside the truck.

 

Thanks, that's some good feedback. I was worried about that too, but I'm using this rig for overlanding, so I wanted either a bed rack or camper shell on the back to secure crates/coolers/toys above the decked and below the rack/shell.

 

I have the bigger drawer for camp and truck tools and gear. The narrow has work tools. The Decked plus the area behind the back seat has everything I need to carry daily. My biggest gripe is the price not any lost storage space because I have an issue with overpacking.

I have a Decked system in my long bed with a Leer 180 on top, but don't have any pics handy. In general I love the setup; the highrise cap makes it easy to sleep on top of the drawers, which I feel use the space effectively enough for my needs. I can fit some tools and enough camping gear and clothes for week+ long trips in them without having to shuffle too much around to crawl in and sleep at the end of the day.

On the other hand, the cap and drawers combined weigh almost 500lbs, so with armor the truck is pretty bloated and l will probably end up ditching the drawers for a basic platform at some point.
