I have bluetooth and nav, but the nav really sux and it don't like my phone.

Brandon might be right, but when I got mine, anything with Nav was a lot more than I wanted to spend, so I picked mine based on the audio and Bluetooth features, and got a nice reconditioned Garmin with lifetime maps.

 

I mean the nav is nice, but I would like a good unit that just works with the apple maps as this typically works just fine for me. I have GIA (sp) for the off road maps on my iPad so that takes care of my needs.

 

They have them just pricey around 600 and up for the name brand stuff and 300 and up for the lower quality brands

 

Ya its the 600 up part that bugs me.....

 

Well if your looking at the pioneer kenwood name brand stuff they been around for 50 years now and established themselves don't be afraid of the newer brands like boss and jensen they make good lower quality stuff to

 

Not familiar with Boss....Yes have owned the other brands before just like I said has not become such a priority anymore for me.

 

Boss is just entry level brand but they have come along way in quality since they started they sell the lower quality am fm cd recivers you find at walmart but there dvd/nav recivers in the 300 price range are nice

 

Hmm maybe one day I will look at them more.

 

I got Boss amps when I redid the stereo. Good price a and clean sound. Not monster power, but all I need.

 

The new stuff works pretty good there like kia back in the days they were crap now they actually make good products

 

Ya no more amps for me, just don't care no more about that stuff.

 

I just wanted better sound than 20 stock watts provides.

I wouldn't mind finding new head unit but mine has the JBL so it makes it a little harder to swap out. The sound is good, I'll give it that, but yes navigation is not the best, usually just use my phone for Nav. The whole head unit felt outdated since day 1

Man I remember back in 1996 if you had a pioneer CD player you were the s*** back when car still had cassette players

 

I remember when I was in high school I had an 84 Cutlass and I had a pioneer single DIN CD Deck with those old school pioneer premier speakers and damn that s*** was banging
