if you bolt it to the bed how are you going to sweep out the gravel/dirt/mulch. I pull the mat out after a empty the bed and give it a good sweeping.

Flipped my truck, twice. Bed mat didn't budge.

I wouldn't think of even locking down my bed mat. One reason is that when I wash the truck I roll the mat to one side, wipe the bed dry, and then roll it to the other side and dry. If someone wants to steal it they can have it. With my luck they would steal the tailgate as well.
I wouldn't even consider anchoring my bed mat. One reason is when I wash the truck (or after a heavy rain and it's in the garage) I roll the mat to one side and wipe down the bed and then roll it to the opposite side and do the same. If someone wants the mat they can have it and for $85-$100 I'll just get another one. With my luck they'll probably steal the tailgate along with the mat.

    Yes
OP just leave it bed mats are not high on the what to steal list. Any covienent prevention you use will cost you half the price of a new one. Maybe make some love stains on it and move on.

Thanks. That is just a perfect solution. I already have a stainless steel bolt and nylock washer so I am going to secure the mat soon.

I think if I put the bolt in the middle I can still roll it up enough to clean under it.

Too bad the stealth dumper himself, TacomanTaco is no longer with us on TW. This would be right up his alley.

Be prepared for the "just lost my bed mat. what size bed mat can I put on with having to start cutting thread" :sawzall:

OP I understand your concern. Lock your tailgate, I don't think anyone would try to drag a 40# mat out with out the tailgate being down.
