Reviving this thread as there is FINALLY a dedicated version for our trucks. @MESO has just dropped his flip key fob. Though we're still waiting to get ours, I'm banking this will easily be the best flip key you can buy for our trucks compared to what's been available. The announcement starts here: 1016

No luck here either with Techstream and the transponder. I was able to program the remote lock buttons though. You may want to purchase one of these to program the transponder.

Not sure about the newer Tacos. I have a 2017 and though I haven’t tried one of these tools, I do believe others have. I have an extra transponder and was debating getting one of them to try.

Our 2019 Tacoma H key fcc ID HYQ12BDP while inside key unit is HYQ12BEL.
So bought HYQ12BEL key from ebay for 15$. Key I bought has 4 button. Includes trunk button that my truck does not need so applied epoxy around button so it no longer can push/work. Also put dark nail polish to hide trunk logo. IMO does not matter that you have extra button. It just does not do anything.
Attached Ebay link is of not exact listing but similar key.
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/143651024069

Also added two flip key each approx 16$.

Local Ace hardware strode cut the keys for approx 2$. Local locksmith programmed for 40$ each.
All are working fined or year.

Btw one of the transponder chip out of 3 keys did not work either it was defective or seller sent wrong version.

As far as I can see HYQ12BEL & HYQ12BDP are interchangeable. However YMMV so use your own judgement.

    Hope this helps.
