I know the feeling. I was set on driving the garage queen Tacoma but the wife was checking ticket prices...I think it would have been equal cost considering breaking the drive 2 days and motel stops. It's near 20 hour drive so I caved..truck still sits, bought in July 2017, less than 20k miles driven.20201207_111816.jpg

Looks like a tool to seat seals and backup rings for piston style accumulators or hydraulic cylinders.

Bingo!!! Accumulator, I should investigate the vendor manual and see just what this accumulator is used for.

Piston style accumulator is basically the same as a hydraulic cylinder, just with a nitrogen precharge on one end of the piston. Accumulators are used for everything, from dampening to supercharging.

Be very careful if/when you put your hands or other body parts anywhere near a charged accumulator.
One of our employees attempted to disassemble an accumulator and it came apart. He was thrown across the shop, landed/was stuffed under a work bench, broke his leg (and other bones I believe) and was almost killed. He was working for a different employer at the time.
    Lesson learned.

Yep. Pressure is nothing to play with, especially 6000 psi.

Yeah, pretty much any stored energy should be considered possible if no way to identify otherwise. 1997 time frame a bad industrial accident where a guy cut a pipe plug off some type of cylinder using a cutting torch. I worked with one of his coworkers at another job who was there when it happened. It basically flame thrower on him. Burned so bad that it was a miracle he lived. He was on the news several years later talking about it being a miracle he survived.
