    The pulley journey - had the 3.0 on for a year, then 2.8 urd, then 2.7 urd. Then switched to a 2.5 puleyboys quickchange, and now because I wanted some bling I bought the URD 2.4" quickchange which I will hopefully throw on soon. I also recently acquired the URD 76mm throttle body adapter and Tundra throttle body from a member here so going to try it out to curb my curiosity - good that we can calibrate throttle bodies while they are installed.

    The main serpentine pulleys are not the same size. Maybe you got them backward.

    otherwise there maybe a manufacturing problem with the spacer.

    He wouldn't experience the benefits of the 2.8 in a full OE application. If he wants to make the most of the 2.8 exhaust and keep him within the 6.5-7.5 blower efficiency range he will have to modify or replace his Y pipe with something more free flowing than the tiny chode sized exhaust Y piping.

    Hey @JTacoma don't go higher than 7.5 psi. The blower doesn't like excessive boost and it has an efficiency range between 6.5 and 7.5 psi. Boost isn't everything, and actually produces more heat the higher up in range you go and takes you outside of the compressor maps efficiency range.

    Boost is a measure of engine restriction, so if you do things like get a more free flowing Y pipe and delete all the cats you will see the 6.8 psi would drop down to something like 2 or 3 psi total at wide open throttle. It's at that point that you start stepping down in pulley sizes (2.8/ 2.7/ 2.6 etc.) to bring you back into the proper range.

    Just a small footnote to remember for modding on these.

    Took everything off and triple checked against the stock serpentine idler (I replaced them while I was in there) and they were an exact match according to my micrometer. Part numbers were right too.

    I shaved a bit off the spacer and everything lines up perfect now. Took another long drive and everything stayed where it should. I'm guessing the spacer, crank pulley, and/or small ribbed pulley had some slight manufacturing differences. Who knows? :notsure:

    Thanks for the info. I'm guessing the stock y pipe is the biggest bottleneck in the stock exhaust? I don't mind changing up the exhaust but I want it to stay quiet. For reference, nothing louder than a TRD cat back. Boost hit 6.4 on my drive today. AFRs dropped into the mid 9s WOT.

    @JTacoma

    I basically agree with this, as I’ve seen with running a 2.0” pulley for a year, and now a 1.87” pulley for over a year, the amount of gains between 8psi and 16psi are not nearly as big as people would think (like, 10% more power between the two). Although I’m really happy with the throttle response using such a small pulley, among other things, such as a whine that always turns heads (they probably just think my transmission is going, though, which is what my girlfriend thought when she rode in my truck for the first time).

    Also belt slip with pulleys that small is pretty outstanding - belts weren’t lasting long at all, until after I put my camshafts in (I.e. improve FLOW as @12TRDTacoma mentions). Now belt slip is at an acceptable level, and my current belt is still doing well after 6 months with the 1.87” pulley.

    I have a kind of absurd amount of water/methanol injection, which helps with possible heat generation because 16psi boost is outside of the optimal efficiency range of the supercharger. Improved flow everywhere else is beneficial because there’s reduced parasitic load, less heat, and less “need” to up the boost to get power - whether it’s perceived or not.

    Someday I’ll get a stroker kit and do some hardcore porting of the supercharger, heads, and intake... looking forward to that day, but for now I’m pretty happy with my water/meth injection, headers, intake, and camshafts, and will be sticking with a 1.87” pulley for sure because the benefits are so much fun, compared to the drawbacks.

    So basically what I’m saying is, improve your airflow like @12TRDTacoma says and you will get the most out of a smaller pulley.

    What year Camry did you trade? Just curious, my wife has a Camry XSE. Pearl white with the red leather interior. It’s a sharp ass car but she was kinda thinking of trading it for a Lexus as well.....

    Yup. Very small. Don’t no how it makes power. I’ll show some more pics showing the exhaust port side. And the turbo size. Very small

    Around 500hp I’m pretty sure. I got short block. With new heads. And new turbos. Bunch of small parts. For the low price of $38k in parts so far hahaha
