Yup. Bought mine from OEM Parts Source in February of 2019. After I placed the order, they called to try and cancel it due to my VIN. I asked to have them ship it anyway and it mounts up with existing screws. Never sure why the 3rd Gen VINs don't seem to say they fit. If you get one, remember that you have to buy the end caps separately and everyone charges way too much for them - which technically you don't even really need.

The ring from the factory boot clicked into it. Haven't had an issue.

Are you just taking it for walks? :D JK. My ‘17 only had 24k miles after 3 years when I traded it in. I’ve had my new one for 5 weeks and have over 1,900 miles already. Nearest spot to go wheelin is about 150 miles round trip. The OHV park that’s closer to home (Hollister Hills) is closed because of Covid concerns and San Benito county is on lockdown. I’ll be glad when this is all over and we can get back to some level of normal; it’ll help keep the miles down.

Got the husky liners in. My weathertech mats held up great for 3+ years. I can’t knock them at all especially for the price but if you can fork out the dough for liners it’s the way to go.

New Battery day! Stoked on this one! Odyssey 24f AGM, the oem battery was starting to fail in mild cold weather. New battery looks and feels much better quality.

-Remeber to clean positive and negative connections with baking soda+water paste
-Cleaned & repainted rusty tie down

truck starts up like never before!

EDIT: Support your local battery shop, can’t get these at the dealer!

I traded in my 2017 Sport for the 2021 and it only had 13,000 miles on it. Houston sucks and its to cold to go to the beach.

Definitely too cold for the beach; can’t speak of Houston, haven’t been there. Good point though. I forget how cold other parts of the country can get in the winter time. We haven’t had much of any rain here. No rain in the 10 day forecast and next weekend the area I like to go wheelin is supposed to be sunny and 75 degrees. Think Cali is in for another drought.

I'm having a similar issue and the battery was replaced by Toyota last winter. Wondering if now I should be looking at inspection the terminals closer and cleaning them.

Huh, first Taco mod of 2021 - took advantage of the above-freezing weather and swapped the vanity lights with Diode Dynamics DD0047Q LEDs:

Brighter than stock filament bulbs but kept the warm white hue, because these shine directly into the eyes:

Also put in a bottle of Sta-bil 22209-913 fuel stabilizer since the truck will be sitting for a while.

Finally got around to installing my Headstrong 3 leaf AAL, the install went very smoothly, got about 1.25" lift and gave me a little rake back. Haven't measured it loaded yet, maybe tomorrow.

Attempted to install yellow lamin-x film on the fog lights. After second attempt at lining one up it had a bubble towards the bottom; peeled it back off got a fingerprint on the sticky side. o_O Ordering another set. Lesson learned. :cookiemonster:

I vaguely remember seeing something a long time ago about taking something as simple as a regular Coke, and pouring it on the battery terminals (obviously disconnected), and it would help clean them off. Acid in it would eat away at the corrosion and help clean them up.
