Looks like the LEDs shine down on to the feflector at least for the low beam. The reflector reminds me of a Federal Signal solaris reflector, and I think the LED shines downbonto the feflector.

I'd like to know which head light is cheaper to produce halogen oem or LED oem.

From what I see with my eyes it’s the same for both low and high beams as far as emitter location and reflector curvature. Probably best to just hunt down a set of these in a parking lot somewhere and ogle them in person. Look for sideways C

So is the dimming exaggerated in the test "headlight" and it will be better on the real one? Or will it also be very dim?

I saw a video of the lights at night and that's one of reasons I want them. I like how nice the low beam and drl look lit together.

Sorry, I'm a new to this just decided on a whim I wanted the lights lol

There isn’t really any dimming on my mock up headlight. It’s just the camera angle. The dimming on the actual headlight will be exactly like the factory. The headlight itself always gets 12V, it just depends on where that signal is coming from as to what it does with it. If you went and looked at a truck that had factory LED headlights, the DRL would be dimmed with the low beam on. With this harness, you will have the exact same effect.

    Damn you :D
I’m tempted at buying the OEM LEDs. I’ve been waiting for almost 5 weeks for my Diode Dynamics 12” led strips to be shipped :annoyed:
That’s all I’m waiting for to finish my retrofit. If it’s much longer I may just scrap the plan and go with the OEM LEDs. I’m not a total fan of the reflector look though, I wish they were led projectors.
I’m interested in seeing if your harness works, I hope it does.

FWIW, the look has grown on me. I’m a fan now. I wasn’t in love with them at first. They are expensive. Halogens look dated now. Like 2nd gen headlights, though 2nd gen reflectors rule.

So I guess in order for my 2020 SR to join this LED craze headlights I first must get them from Toyota then I can buy a set of harness for it to work?

To get the SR/SR5 to work with the OEM LEDs you’ll have to reach in to @Puppypunter idea hole and ask for a harness.

I've been told I will eventually manage production of these. Once the design is 100% finalized. I'm on board and stocking up on supplies in preparation.

I do think I like the routine work, I find it soothing to operate within the realm of the known-good.

Yeah, I know I’m spread too thin. If the IRS would stop extending the deadline, I’d have some time open up (I have been doing taxes in my “spare” time). It helps to do stuff in batches a little. But yeah, the eventual goal is for @daveeasa to force his kids to build this stuff :D
