You can’t avoid it. Especially if they’re ceramic brakes. What I do is give my wheels a good coat of spray wax to make it make them shine and make it easier for cleaning

 

Thanks. Will give it a try. Just want them to clean up easier.

 

Spray wax or tire shine on the wheel makes it easier to clean off. Use a mild soft bristle brush to clean the spokes. For old heat and brake stains, use a soft degreaser like Simple Green to help break up the built up material.

Get them ceramic coated. Everything will just fall off with a light pressure rinse. My brother ceramic coated his Tacoma and also his Mustang. The shop he goes to uses the leftover coat liquid on the wheels





Edit: if money isn’t an issue, I recommend Optimum Polymer Technologies ceramic coatings. Everyone will say CeramicPro but it’s all hype

It’s all about Purple Power degreaser boiiiiii

 

I was trying to remember the purple one lol. It's been a couple decades.

 

In the detailing world, Simple Green and Purple Power are the underdogs simply because they’re both cheap in price. Chemical Guys sells a watered down version of Purple Power at 3x the cost

We used Simple Green on wheels and that Purple stuff on body work. Soft bristle with mild auto soap would clean the rest then work any imperfections out with varying grit buffing and waxing compounds with a rotary buffer till you could see your grandchildrens' future in the reflection.

We reject black cars at work if it’s windy unless the owner insists on getting it washed. If we wash it, the rain check warranty is voided
