Upbadging your Tacoma

When I bought my SR it had SR5 decals on it and I immediately removed them. Couldnt get them off fast enough. IMO customize your truck however you like, but why would you want to pretend its something its not? just feels like youre setting yourself up for a humiliating conversation at some point down the road when you try to explain it.

 

Not my deal, but I couldn’t care less what someone else does. It’s their vehicle and they should do what they like. I don’t think they should “called out” for their choices even if they are “up-badging”. There’s enough of judging others about inconsequential things without adding this to it. Just my two cents.

 

I did mine. No problem about it. They can say anything about it, I don't care.its my truck so.

You want to hear something funny? I was at a parking lot loading groceries. This couple in their 70's asked me regarding the gas mileage of the hybrid tacoma ha ha . They were on f150.

Who cares. If I saw a toyota corolla with power stroke diesel badges on one side and cummins badges on the other side I'd just laugh and move on with my life. (I did see this)

You insecure about protecting your status as a TRD Off Road owner whenever you see a dude driving an SR5 that has a TRD decal?

 

Yeah. It shouldn’t matter what other people have in their vehicles unless you get insulted every time you see someone with a truck posing like the truck you own

 

What’s wrong with it though? Their money ain’t it? Not anyone’s business but their own

The people that throw a fit when someone makes fun of awkward or cringey trends like up-badging just out themselves.

 

Doesn’t bother me unless your trying to sell a cheaper truck saying it’s a higher end one. I put TRD off-road stickers on my 4x4 work spec tundra.. but I’ve effectively added all the sr5 options and trd options as I’ve modified it.... plus it just looks better having something on the bedside there

 

I have a 2020 TRD Off-Road. I love the badging. Would not consider unbadging.

And I appreciate all the 1st Gens and 2nd Gens I see on the streets that are still in full glory with their original badging.

No. I simply see a truck going down the road with fake hooters.

 

Can we discuss the psychological need to UP badge?

 

I just did it because it looked bad without badges... too much grey. My Tacoma’s and cars are all rocking stock badges though. For a lot of people in my neck of the woods it’s for the illusion of having something they really can’t afford

Love this. One person buys a cheap truck and upbadges and another person buys an expensive truck and debadges to make it look cheap.

Tacoma owners are some of the most silly people on this beautiful planet.
