said they were on the truck when he bought it. Guess we’ll find out lol, they’re only going on until I can justify spending the money on a fox or king kit some time when it’s warm again.

Hello. I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma double cab V6 and I am looking to get the old man emu lift kit installed with Dakar’s in the rear. The shop
I am doing it through said that they refuse to put in top plate spacer to achieve the full 3inches. How much lift do you think I can achieve without that? I would like to mention that I am getting the soft ride 90021 and 885 struts. Also with the Dakar’s do you think I will achieve a level look? Even tho I have a cap on a short bed? I’m just looking for some insights on what I should be expecting.

With 885s you'll get 2.5-2.75" up front and you'll have a little rake unless you remove a leaf from the dakars.

Thank you! And yes the shop is going to remove the overload spring or something they said. The also said they will try a couple things to see how level they can get it with my topper on. I was just afraid because a lot of places I have looked recently have been saying that I will only get 1.5-2 inches in the front.

Is that with extra weight? Or a double cab? Also what shock absorbers do you have installed up front?

I have a DCSB. At the time I had a steel IFS and mid skid. The 884s were paired with 5100s.

Impact hammer should work as well.

Question on OME Coils - 886 vs 888

    Vehicle:
2017 DCSB with 70k miles on 265/75/16 and SummoSprings in the rear, otherwise stock.

    Weight:
I have MobTown Slider’s on, basically since the truck was new (Spring 2017).
I have RSi SmartCap on order

    Goal:
2” lift front/rear, maintaining factory rake

    Considerations:
With the sliders weighing 180’ish lbs (if I recall correctly), and the SummoSprings in the rear, the weight of the sliders had more of an impact on the front than the rear. With the cap coming I want to correct this and be balanced for the weight. No long term goals of adding bumpers/skids. 100lbs in the bed at any given time, outside of the cap to come (so 300lb estimated constant bed load).

Current Measurements (Taken center of wheel to fender):
    Front Driver: 20”
    Front Passenger: 20 3/8”
    Rear Driver: 22”
    Rear Passenger: 21 1/2”

    Concerns:
I just want to be balanced for weight with sliders and cap, front to rear and side to side with a similar ride to what I have now (if it was a little firmer, fine.... if it was a little softer, fine).

Looking at the OME kit from Wheelers: Was thinking 886 with 90021 (Soft) and 95’s (Medium duty) leafs in the rear. The kit comes with the trim packer so that should cover the front driver prob and balance out the front.

Any thoughts / concerns on this? I’ve searched TW and thumbed through a ton of material. Most applications people post about are either stock, or heavy load outs and I feel like I’m somewhere in the middle.

I was afraid the 886’s would be too firm or jarring. I was afraid the 888’s would be too tall and I’d lose the rake (also reading concerns of sag over time). No offense to those that like the level look, but I REALLY want that rake.

I’ve had this in my cart for a week just going back and forth between 886/888, I want a 1 and done for the front. If I wasn’t happy w/ the rear I can easily swap leafs around to get what I’m looking for, but with the fronts coming assembled from the shop I want to get it right the first time.

Help sway me one direction or the other.

    TYIA

    *edit*
If anyone has pictures of a comparable setup, please post or link me the post

Without weight up front I would go with 885s. 886s will get you the height but will be too stiff and 888s will yield you more than 2".

This is for a 3rd gen. The 885s have the same spring rate as the 887 and 888 but are shorter. Won’t those sag?
