Too fake IMO---if you didn't choose to buy it, why present to the public as such? In my mind, thats the exact definition of a poser.

I'll preface this is as MY opinion. But upbadging?? Seems "cheap". But do what makes YOU happy.

In all my years driving tacomas, I could never stand the 4x4 mud flaps, the 4x4 graphics - trd crapola and anything on the truck that says hey look at me - no really look at me - I drive a 4x4. I'm also not a "sticker guy". Any stickers I do have end up on my motocross storage boxes. Wait. I do have a postage stamp size beta sticker on my rear window - needed for the place I ride. Hate that on there too. I only have the tacoma badges on the doors now but they're coming off soon.

A person can add a badge to their truck....it’s their truck.

A person can also add a tattoo of a dick to their face.....it’s their face.

Another person can point out that one (or both) attempts at “enhancement” are stupid.....it’s their opinion.

Ok, so who here actually washes and properly details their truck?

The first thing I did when I got the truck is take some unwaxed dental floss and remove the badges.

Then I peeled off the fender stickers.

If you don't know what I got from looking at it, then your opinion doesn't matter to me.

Also, stickers age poorly and I don't want mis-matched paint.

The BMW guys get all pissy when someone puts M badges on non-M cars and I just don't get why people care so much.

I don't want to try to clean compound and wax out of the tacoma logo, much less mud. They also eat up my buffing pads.

    What an unnecessary headache.

Seems to me that person isn't satisfied with their truck, so they make it look like a more expensive model to look good on line.

Mine is an SR. Nothing against adding TRD/Off Road decals to an SR or SR5, it's just not for me.

I removed the V6 and 4X4 badge from the tailgate and mine did not come with the Tacoma emblem on the doors. In fact, I proudly rock my SR grill emblem.

I've had guys ask why I would want to point out I have a base model Tacoma? I simply tell them that when we're at the top of the same hill, I can sit and count the extra $15-20K that I still have in my pocket.

What if it's a TUNDRA badge on a TACOMA?

It takes me back to the street races where you'd have guys with a V6 Mustang adding GT badging and trying to pass their car off as a V8.

The saying we had back then was "you don't gotta lie to kick it".

I like the cheaper looking trucks. I think the base SR on the gray steel wheels is the best looking stock Tacoma configutation. Very clean and simple.

You got bigger things to worry about than upbadging or debadging. It's just a truck. I've got better things to do than be in this thread. It's just a truck. We ALL need a little perspective.

I only removed the "V6" badging on the tailgate, and filled in the metal stamped word "Tacoma" with Ebay black color vinyl lettering fill. Looks good, and the rest of the truck will stay stock.
